Kansas City Bus Stabbing Follow-Up

Quick look back at transit drama from this morning that deserves a bit of attention as a reminder of desperate circumstances away from the streetcar line:

Person stabbed on KC ATA bus, police say

Kansas City police are investigating a stabbing on a ATA bus early Thursday. Police officers were called to 39th Street and Prospect Avenue about 5:30 a.m. after it happened. One person was injured. Authorities did not release the victim's condition. Police said they have one person in custody.

  1. Let me guess, stabbed for a piece of bubble gum or a piece of chicken or just maybe the victim looked at the nut case and they thought he was "disrespectin" for walking by. Who knows what the hell these psycho hood rats think these days. Maybe the mayor should walk through his old stomping grounds and knock on a few doors!

  2. Right at the intersection that the Aldi store was built, mostly with the generosity of the KCMO taxpayers.
    The grocery was sold by pitching the idea that all kinds of great things were going to happen once the "food desert" was overcome and "redevelopment" was coming to the east side.
    Same song was sung about all the great improvements in the neighborhood that the multi-million dollar East Patrol campus was going to bring.
    Somehow, building new expensive things without addressing responsibility and behavior doesn't seem to be working.
    The empty promises never seem to stop, though.
