Food Network Praises St. Louis Restaurants, Disses Kansas City

click to enlarge If you want to eat well in Missouri, you'd better be prepared to spend a lot of time in St. Louis. That's the gist of the Food Network's lengthy, and well-researched, roundup of "What to Eat in Missouri." The gallery, published yesterday, praises more than two dozen great options in the St.

  1. Well it's true.

Not that St Louis doesnt have its share of over-inflated ego wanna-be psuedo-celebrities, but Kansas City has more than it's share.

If they actually focused more on the FOOD than the PERSONALITIES, KC really does have much to offer.

  2. We have something in common. I hate Kansas City, too.

  3. Here's why most of the restaurants were in St.Louis, according to the article, the author lives in St.Louis. I bet he never even stepped foot in KC or the rest of Missouri. He probably doesn't work for the Food Network, he's just a freelance writer who didn't bother to visit KC.

  4. KC has BAR-B-Q and EYE-TALIAN and PIZZA. And about a zillion faux Mexican and faux Chinese places. Big woo.....

  5. The Riverfront Times is the equivalent of the Pitch but focused on St. Louis only- why would they be talking about Kansas City? It's Tony Botello who hates Kansas City but yet doesn't move away, let alone his mom's basement. If it weren't for the titty pics this blog isn't worth visiting.

The Food Network has been to KC plenty of times and even Anthony Bourdain, but Tony doesn't bother to mention it because he hates Kansas City.

  6. barbecue is tasty, and it isn't all the same, but it's just not that interesting, and if you eat it more than twice a year, you are a fatty. kc has a million mediocre to bad chinese restaurants and a million mediocre to bad mexican restaurants. here's a concept for you: crab rangoon is not chinese food. any chinese restaurant that sells sushi probably isn't very good. ditto any mexican joint that sells taco salad. there are two or three good mexican joints, two or three good chinese joints, one or two good thai joints. learn to love indian ... there are lots of good indian places, especially in joco. other than that, stick with steaks, burgers and fried chicken.
