DID BURNS & MAC MISTAKENLY BELIEVE HYPE ABOUT POWER OF KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY'S POPULARITY?!?
Kansas City outrage over the new airport RFP and bidding antics seem to have backfired against one of the biggest engineering firms in the nation that was hoping to win an EPIC contract by way of the charisma, charm and power of their strongest political ally.

DID THE BURNS & MAC PLAN TO CAPITALIZE ON MAYOR SLY'S SOCIAL MEDIA POWER BACKFIRE AMID PUBLIC OUTRAGE OVER YET ANOTHER CLUMSY START TO THE AIRPORT CONVERSATION?!?
Their strategy works on paper.
Mayor Sly has 100K twitter followers and he gets nothing but good press.
However, he's quickly moving into lame duck status and there are no less than three major Mayoral contenders with many more waiting in the wings.
Better still . . . KCMO council is packed with lawyers and longtime power players who aren't that impressed with media celebrity that only lasts until the next bad news cycle.
Like it or not, banking solely on Mayor Sly for big money seems to be a horrific mistake for Burns & Mac that now looks like the bad guy as they chase a HUUUUUUGE airport contract and start a discussion that might last a lot longer than November.
Meanwhile, the majority of the airport conversation continues to take place behind the scenes as political players plant stories and consultants continues pushing their agenda disguised as "activism" online.
