Kansas City Now Hiring For Crappy Jobs!!!

Just a bit of good news from dead-tree media touting better economic numbers that aren't really reflecting in reality. Take a look:

KC area job growth helps plunge local unemployment rate to 3.6 percent

Unemployment rates around the country continued to drop in April, and the Kansas City metropolitan area registered a sizable decline in the number of unemployed job hunters. According to data published Wednesday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the area's jobless rate plunged to an estimated 3.6 percent in April, down from 4.2 percent in March.

  1. But I thought KC=Detroit? I thought people were moving from "Killa City", I thought "Silverback Sly" had ruined the KC economy. I thought the demmocrims had destroyed KC. What happened?

    1. What happened is that we have a minor bright spot in the overall picture of horrendously spiking crime and obvious, destructive crony corruption. Thanks tho! :)

  2. If you believe any number released by 12th and Oak,they probably added the 500 plus murder victims to the list of employed...I'm sure they are all employed and voting in upcoming elections as well.

  4. 1:25PM I'm sure you have zero idea what the fuck your talking about. I'm also sure you are another in a long list of uneducated trolls who love to post about shit they know nothing about. All you, and people like you do, is bitch, cry , and whine. When you are presented with facts that contradict all the bullshit you spew on the daily, you cry fake news! It must be nice to live in a world where you are never wrong and always right about everything. You don't fool anyone.

Before you wet your pants over all of Sly's breathless successes, you might keep in mind that the statistics are METRO-WIDE, not just in KCMO, and also remember that of the small metro population of just 2.2 million, fully 83% don't live in KC.
There lots of development and jobs being created thoughout the metro and KCMO is just a part of that.
In fact, if you travel I-470 westbound in the morning, you'd find at the Triangle almost all the traffic heads west into Johnson County, not north into KC.
Municipal governments don't create jobs unless they hire people themselves, and KCMO is going the other way on that score, including the police department.
What an effective local government DOES accomplish is to create an environment that's supportive of residents, businesses, and visitors as well.
But that involves a safe community, good streets, well-maintained parks and other public facilities, and all the other basics that contribute to a better quality of life.
On that score KCMO regularly ranks as the fifth worst-run city in the country.
Lots of hype,PR, and fake sizzle.
    Very little steak.
