The book features 15 of the individuals she encountered, showcasing their portraits and stories. All photos are presented in black and white with their corresponding stories written in Rodriguez' own hand. The book invites the reader to truly see and experience the life of a homeless individual and is full of surprises, heartbreak and survival."

  1. Missourians have no money to hand out because all of their money goes to high taxes and outrageous water bills. Not hard to figure that one out. It will get worse in joco.

  3. I work downtown and there are homeless everywhere. Not because they don't have a place to stay but because they choose to live on the streets and not in shelters. They choose to live without regulations, rules, and where they can break the law. Where they can drink, do drugs, steal etc. A beggar asked me one day for change at 5th and Delaware. I asked him how much money he had made today and he said $6. He said it was enough to get him drunk for the next day or so. I told him if he really wants to make good money to take the JO bus to the end of the line and beg there. I told him people in Johnson County give $20 bills instead of change. Looks like the word has spread.
