TKC MUST READ!!! NEW KANSAS CITY SINGLE-TERMINAL AIRPORT THREATENS HISTORIC GRAVES OF THE DEAD?!?!

For the very late night, here's a scary story about plans for the future and coming to terms with Kansas City's past . . . Worst of all, the 2-BILLION-DOLLAR price tag.

The message:

"Our Airport work has led to conversations with a group of individuals who are involved in trying to preserve the graveyards on our KCI Airport property. These graveyards house the final resting place for African American slaves and some Native Americans who contributed to the history and building of our community . . ."

The notice this week:

"Under federal law, KCI is required to assess the possibility that its development projects will destroy important historical properties, including graves. There is clear evidence that the airport has a record of violating federal law for decades. There airport has gotten away with it because few had any idea what the airport was doing. We now know what KCI is doing as the result of a 2008 court case that effectively exposed airport records to public view for the first time. Native Americans have recently contacted the airport to demand inclusion in airport planning, as required by federal law. Critically, and unlike other airports, KCI has no cultural resources management plan which calls for protecting unmarked graves and other important cultural remnants. Our main objective is to compel the airport to adopt such a plan. If it did, KCI could become an enormous educational and educational asset to the community, region and country, since nationally important historic events are linked to lands currently owned by the airport. We plan to talk about some of these events in our presentation."

Credit to any late night TKC readers who recognize that all of this sounds like the plot from the Poltergeist movies and another reason to be VERY SCARED of new airport plans.

  4. Indian burial grounds? Where are the libtards sending in the protesters? Oh I forgot. The airport is a libtard project so now sacred Indian graves don't count for shit. Damn maybe we could squeeze in an oil pipeline or two since the local Boss Hogs are going to have their way.

  5. The public should be aware that Mayor Sly and the city council have been approached and sent information on this situation several times, and FAILED to do anything. The federal government has a cut in seeing that this is done and it will be done before the airport deals move forward.
