KANSAS CITY MIDDLE-CLASS PROBLEMS: CHIEFS PARKING PRICE SPIKE OUTRAGE!!!

Some of the most frivolous and basic local talkers and social media denizens are in an uproar over Chiefs parking prices skyrocketing to as high as 60 bucks . . . Meanwhile, the rest of the world has real problems.

We would've buried the link in the compilation or skipped it altogether if it wasn't for all three talk radio stations chattering about this middle-class tax on the pathologically bored. It kinda makes sense given that the last advertising left on terrestrial radio is for boner pills and motorcycles . . . Same difference.

But I digress . . .

The point here is simple . . . If concern over Chiefs parking prices REALLY troubles media denizens then they've been probably living in such a social media consumer bubble that they're pretty much walking zombies.

The whole point of this blog is to highlight the best, controversial, oddball and KICK-ASS topics locally . . . Our blog community notes this story simply to point out that there remains a precious class of Kansas City d-bag and media denizen who mistakenly believe that prices to enjoy mediocre Chiefs fare are part of the public interest.

Finally, just to make this note somewhat relevant . . . Panic of Chiefs parking prices is probably a big part of the reason why many people believe that capitalism has failed. They might have a point.

You decide . . .

  1. I think the last time the newspaper mentioned water rates doubling in KC was last year.

  2. At least we have a choice, no one forces you to go to a football game. Contrast that with all the property, sales and income taxes we are forced to pay just to exist in this city. And while a rich white man gets the $60 for parking other rich white men mostly get our tax dollars in KCMO.

  4. That's exactly right. And as a rich white man, I expect you to not only pay your taxes, but to do so with a smile.

  5. Looks like the local 3rd estate folks are going to have to dig into their pockets deeper.

  6. There is a simple solution to paying parking fees. Don't go

  7. Park at Free Park and Ride I-29 and Barry Road. Take KCATA Bus 129 to downtown transit center. Transfer to Bus 47. Take 47 to the Taco Bell on Blue Ridge Cutoff by the stadium. After the game, reverse course. $3 for a day pass. I've done that for Royals games. I suggest it for both Royals and Chiefs fans who want to go but don't want to pay that.

There's other such Park and Ride locations you can utilize too. Just do your homework.

  10. It's called supply and demand. It's makes smart business sense to maximize your revenue. It encourages online presale of cheaper parking, faster access to the lot; less employees needed to take cash at gate, and carpooling to allow for free spaces.

  11. Haven't Jackson County taxpayers paid for those lots many times over??? Fukking parking should be free same at Royals stadium.

  12. JT is right. There's lots of other options if you want to go but not pay that outrageous price to park. Not just the metro bus, but taxis, Uber, Ride shares, or take a charter bus with a group.

Just do some searching. There's ways around it.

But I agree with the premise. The KCATA ought to advertise and encourage everyone to take the bus.

  13. Can't imagine why anyone would go to a Chiefs game even if tix and parking were free.

  14. Hey you want to watch them play you got to PAY. The price should be $100.00.

  15. Whats the bitch? If the county was stupid enough to pay for all those stadium improvements without so much as a fart $100 dollar parking will be a no brainer. I guarantee the parking lot will be packed come game day. You can not be a victim when you keep volunteering for this kind of shit.
