TKC CAMPAIGN QUESTION: WILL GO BOND JUNK MAIL WIN KANSAS CITY VOTES???

Community opposition against more property taxes continues to gain momentum despite the lack of an organized, traditional campaign structure against $800-MILLION worth of increased taxes over the next 40 years.

Meanwhile . . .

GO BOND JUNK MAIL CLOGS MAILBOXES THROUGHOUT KANSAS CITY!!!

This effort costs a fortune and, once again, Mayor Sly James is the star of the tree-killing campaign. Meanwhile, in the digital era very few people do anything with their snail mail other than throw it away.

To be fair, that 5 second trip to the garbage can is actually a selling point of the brightest minds in Kansas City politics compared with TV and online advertising that more people attempt to block.

So we ask our blog community to make the judgement regarding this old school rhetorical tactic amid the upcoming low turnout election to start #TBT . . .

Is snail mail garbage more influential than growing civic resentment against rising Kansas City taxes and cost of living???

You decide . . .

  1. People still get mail? They must be blind to tyranny.

  2. Yeah I still get all the political garbage in my box.
So tired of seeing that "Lying Sly" picture I now give all that literature to my rot who just tears it to pieces. I actually don't mind cleaning up the crumbles.

I was so surprised to see Freedom Inc against the 123GO Bonds.
I might call them for a ride to the polls to show my support.

  3. If only the people who manage and govern KCMO were half as good at what they "do" as the slicks who run the campaigns of ridiculous lies that regularly trick the ever-decreasing minority of voters in low-turnout elections, the town would be nirvana.
The GO bond issue is likely to pass and the money will disappear into the same unaccountable holes that hundreds of millions of other taxpayer dollars have.
Doing the same things the same way with the same people.
    What could possibly go wrong?

  4. Questions are which of Troy's friends got the lush contract to produce all of this garbage, and how many milliona was the no-bid contract

  5. I've thrown away four of these damn things!

And not into the recycle bin!

  6. Does Slym man think that those who can read in Kansas City are more prone to vote for this piece of crap. The more he lies the more determined I am to make sure that my neighbors all go with me to the polls to vote NO NO NO

  7. received 6 go bond flyers in the last two weeks; each was recycled within seconds...

  8. The liar flyer I got said that they would send me a report card to keep them honest. So let me get this right. They do what they want with the money and then they send me a flyer that says we spent the money on some weird stuff and so we have been accountable to the public. Telling me you screwed me after it is over does not constitute transparency, honesty, or any increase in the present low life morality.
A flier would just be a brag that we got what we wanted not what you thought you were voting on. NO NO NO

  10. Unsolicited bulk email! That's the ticket.

  11. Hey Hey Only five Go BOND signs on Ward Parkway. Evidently people aren't going to let those phonies put signs in their yards. No No No

  12. I'm afraid that people will swallow this line without blinking. The latest plea for the GO bonds involves people who live in areas that regularly flood such as Brookside and Westport. The sewers have been neglected for so many decades that it should be no surprise when floods and backups occur. Add the emotional pleas to help the sweet kitties and puppies at the animal shelter, and you have solid YES from the people who keep forgetting about all the broken promises from City Hall.
