KANSAS CITY TRANSIT ACTIVIST CLAY CHASTAIN STAYS LOSING LIGHT RAIL VOTE!!! WILL HE HONOR PROMISE TO FINALLY DROP THE 'DEAD' KANSAS CITY ISSUE???

Once again light rail activist Clay Chastain suffered defeat at the ballot box with a big voter rejection of his effort.

Kansas City Question #3 was defeated soundly . . .

60% NO
40% Yes

It's worth considering that Clay had 68k people agree with him despite every politico and every media outlet arguing against his plan.

Now, Clay promised to abandon his KCMO election advocacy if he was unsuccessful this time around.

"Chastain, who has used initiative petitions to get several light-rail proposals on ballots during the past 20-plus years, outlined his latest during a public forum Monday that attracted a crowd of only 10 people to a meeting room at the Kansas City Public Library's Country Club Plaza branch. "If they vote for it, we're going for it," Chastain said. "But if it's voted down, I'll consider the light-rail issue in Kansas City dead."

Still, he has made that promise before . . . Let's see if he keeps it or what he says this time around.

Developing . . .

  3. The vote wasn't even close. This should tell him once and for all that he and his "plan" aren't welcome here. Don't go away mad, Clay. Just go away...for good.

  4. He promised to go away before. His word means nothing.

  5. Hoorah Hoorah the train done hit a snag. We told you in 2001 that the TOOT TOOT was not going to be built.

  6. People voted it down because it was associated with new taxes. Had it been funded by some other method rather than increased taxes, people may have bought in. Voters were successful in eliminating car taxes, etc. That's great. No new taxes. Look at it that way. We are stuck with a one mile trolley to nowhere. That's over now.

  7. Do you think now you will get to vote on airport, or streetcar extension, no the powers that be will pretend those are paid for in some way that costs the public nothing, sure.

Sly ain't whistling Google, he isn't talking about the streetcar, airport quiet but you know he wants to slip that in somehow. Sanders, Sly, Cleaver all just woke up in a new day.

    Time for some house cleaning.

Another slow learning libtard. They never learn.

  9. How many times has he said, "This is the last time" and promised to leave, never to return.

Because the turnout for the last mayoral election was so low, Chastain will be out at the Brookside Price Chopper soon, collecting signatures. And probably planning another run for mayor, where he will finish fourth in a three-man primary field.
