Dismissed Kansas City Dead Tree Media Columnist Yael Abouhalkah Brags About EPIC Blog Readership And Donations

It seems that a former newspaper Kansas City newspaper scribe has cracked the code of the local online discourse and created a hugely successful online platform for himself according to this latest post.

Impressive page views and talk of a constant stream of donations welcome this newsie to the Internets publishing game . . . If his blog post and Twitter feed are to be believed.

Word of warning: The former columnist may be enjoying paramount and unprecedented success for a local blogger but we don't advise newsbies to take this path. Mr. Abouhalkah has nearly a half century of journalism experience and a name brand that's renowned throughout the metro area . . . Whereas other Internets denizens who have much better metrics than this columnist (gamers, musicians, movie-makers and hottie models) might not be able to duplicate the results that he claims given that he represents such broad spectrum of opinion among a generous news-reading population who are more than willing to pay for left-leaning content that's also available free of charge across a wide spectrum of online locations.

We're certain that Mr. Abouhalkah's touting respectable numbers and a promising journalism profit center is forthright and be would never engage in the same kind of blogger braggadocio which newspaper journalists traditionally denounce.

Translation: Don't try this at home, kids.

  4. People always look to get their opinions validated. Doesn't matter their ideology. Since Kansas City is full of liberals Yael will have followers.

The larger problem with the media is most columnists of any persuasion do not have much to add to the debate. Then what passes for reporting is actually just propaganda. So most voters across the spectrum are not getting good information.

  5. 1:30---Is that why you always post your opinions on this site so you to can feel validated?

  6. So in six weeks Yael has earned more than Tony has in eleven years.

    +1

I'd love to know what was so offensive about that comment that it needed to be deleted, other than it being 100% TRUE.

  7. The truth hurts, little man.

  8. Kinda think Yael is full of it. But he's careful with his words. 5 bucks here and there isn't going to cover that gap in his pension.

  9. I donated $5 and now I want my lap dance.

    Online journalism is grand!

  10. I hope Yael keeps up the good work. We need more journalists willing to offer an independent voice and put their work online. Good for him! I will donate to his web site.

  11. If Tracy hasn't posted on his blog he ain't shit!

  12. Yeah eleven years of blogging and nothing to show for it but a lost libel lawsuit, no credibility and some envelopes of cash from the Show-Me Institute.

I'd feel sad but I'm too busy laughing.

    1. So which is it? Am I getting boat loads of money from Rex or have I failed to ever make a dime from the blog? It would be impossible do both as the comments suggest. Either way, I appreciate so many loyal TKC readers over the years!

  13. Why the 5 dollar max donation? Does he give away free shit with his picture on it like that other blogger in the golden ghetto with each donation?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well all these dozens readers are not going to his Facebook page. Only has 59 members and I scanned all the stories posted and 30 views seemed to be the max number looking at his crap.

    1. Do the math, jerk.

30 x 5 is 150 and they must read every day and donate every time they read. That's thousands in a week. Yael is going to be RICH fron his blog soon.

  15. Yael is doing the journalistic equivalent of busking. It is nice to see people dropping nickels and dimes on to his laptop.

  16. I'd buy Yael FOR A DOLLAR!

  17. I'm donating to all my favorite bloggers for the holiday. 10 pence for a lump of shit!

  18. If people will actually donate money to read the 564th Yael column about how awful Brownback is, go get 'em!
Lots of folks behave as though stupidity was a virtue, as amply demonstrated by the petition to have the results of the recent election overturned.
And the petition was started by...wait for it...
    Lady Gaga!
You really can't make this stuff up.
P.T. Barnum would be having a field day!

  20. As scruffy looking as he is, Abouhalkah might do better with a scrap of cardboard at an intersection in Raytown.

  21. He's obviously an idiot when it comes to technology.

    ReplyDelete
  22. So he's going to continue his Fake News through a blog?

    Who'd a thunk it!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I saw one of his Star columns about ten years ago and immediately came to the conclusion that he's full of shit and unreadable.

In spite of all his newfound 'fans' there's probably a good million people that feel the same way I do.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @2:31. Do some critical thinking, jerkoff. His sheeple followers will eventually figure out that Yael is recycling the same tired old drivel and drop him.

  25. I'd make a sizeable wager that Fael is blowing smoke on his blogging "success" claims.

The first couple of weeks, I stopped by to check out his writing, found it highly predictable, pro-liberal, anti-Kansas, etc. But why I haven't been back since is because he didn't have the balls to allow readers to comment without him repeatedly deleting the comments which he disagreed with. Fael would delete the comments and not even leave an Administrator's message as to why they were deleted, or that they were originally accepted and then disappeared minutes/hours later.

    That's PUSSY TACTICS!

Fael got clobbered in the election, seeing his beloved liberal Democrats ground to ashes. He's part of the group which still doesn't understand that there's been a big change in political outlook.
