Actually, the pressure is coming from both ways and critics argue the airline is seemingly working on how to design a facility to gain a competitive advantage . . . Here's follow-up on a story that KCTV5 broke last month. Take a look: Southwest Airlines urges business community to get on board for KCI single terminal

Who else wants to run the show around here?
ReplyDeletethe scam continues.
ReplyDeletebig business supporting something might not be a positive.
ReplyDeleteKansas city desperately needs a new terminal, more than a streetcar, or convention hotel, or luxury apartments, or a bunch of other stuff. It's too bad the airport didn't happen before the public got tired of spending money.
ReplyDeleteLeave the airport the way it is. It takes 5 minutes to go from your car to the gate on a good day. One terminal will have long security lines and be inconvenient.
ReplyDeleteWho gives a shit if shopping or food choices are not great? I don't go to the airport to do either.
Do you ever fly anywhere? Dozens of other airports have a few security lines that take less time than KCI. You can drop off and pick up curbside, too. These features we think are so unique to us are not. We just have an outdated airport that can't expand for growth.
DeleteCaution!
ReplyDeleteGiving the airlines control of the airport is a dangerous precedent. They want to control the number of gates so they can keep competition at a minimum and increase their rates. Look at Denver. KC has enough smart engineers and architects to design and construct their own facility. We don't need people from New York or Dallas telling us how to do things!
