FEAR KANSAS CITY $350K UNCHECKED FOR CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE!!!

Despite more than a bit of PR regarding easily thwarted tax incentive rules & regs . . . Here's the latest insult to local taxpayers . . .

The KC Biz Journal: Proposed ordinance would authorize $350K study of KC incentives

Accordingly, our blog community deserves a say on this one . . .

BOTTOM LINE: SHOULD THE CITY MANAGER HAVE APPROVAL OF MORE THAN A QUARTER MILLION DOLLARS WITHOUT ANY CHECKS OR BALANCES FROM THE CITY COUNCIL?!?!

It's a disgracefully high number and if Troy was smart he'd turn it down quickly because every Council member will be holding it over his head and asking for their cut hours after this ordinance is effective . . . Meanwhile, the City Hall feeding frenzy continues while everybody is distracted by the crooks running for Prez.

Developing . . .

  1. Why do need to have spend 350K to study welfare for the 1%

  3. City Council are a bunch of dumb asses who can't keep up on stuff going on. I miss Circo and Bunkhouse.

  4. So the city is going to pay upwards of $200 per hour for a bunch of bureaucrats with degrees in public administration to "study" the results. I would ask does this organization ever recommend reducing or eliminating corporate welfare?

For free I would tell them what their incentives have done. They have driven out a lot of non subsidized businesses that were not location dependent. They have caused prices to rise on those businesses that cannot relocate. They have increased taxes on the individual taxpayer and drained resources from every other property tax dependent entity.

  8. The KCMO general fund continues to be a wonderful and always-full trough for the consulting classes.
So go on up to the 29th floor and get in line.
There's plenty where this came from.
