“I had just come back from an incident with the police and a snowmobile when Pat Cadell called from New York, saying that he was with a bunch of New York Times reporters in a bar and they were curious to know what I thought about what Clinton had to say about marijuana - that he had tried it in college but "didn't inhale." I was embarrassed. What do you mean, "didn't inhale?" What the hell do you think we smoke it for?

I said "Only a fool would say a thing like that. It's just a disgrace to an entire generation.”

President Obama smoked so much pot in college he never learned to spell. Which is why he's confusing the word "ruining" the country with "running" the country.

I have always loved marijuana. It has been a source of joy and comfort to me for many years. And I still think of it as a basic staple of life, along with beer and ice and grapefruits -and millions of Americans agree with me.”

I have found in my study of these patients that cannabis is really a safe, effective and non-toxic alternative to many standard medications.

The evidence is overwhelming that marijuana can relieve certain types of pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms caused by such illnesses as multiple sclerosis, cancer and AIDS — or by the harsh drugs sometimes used to treat them. And it can do so with remarkable safety. Indeed, marijuana is less toxic than many of the drugs that physicians prescribe every day.

  9. Legislators can use coke, secretly perform homosexual acts, get sloppily drunk, and cheat on their wives, but they can't fathom how far healthier the use of cannabis is.

  10. Actually, what Clinton meant -- doing a Clintonesque parse -- was that he (like me) could not suck in enough to get high.

However, given the One Man, One Vote rule, how is it that voters out in the Boonies signatures (or lack thereof) can outweigh those of us in the Cities and block a petition process?
