Kander Launches Attack Advert Against Blunt

The new ad will start airing on Friday and it targets Sen. Roy Blunt's alleged conflicts and his family.

Like it or not, MO SecState Kander going negative is a bit of risk given his Boy Scout image . . . The negative gambit early on might have something to do with an important endorsement of Sen. Blunt from the NRA.

  1. What are both candidates' views on unsolicited bulk email?

  2. Chief Wana Dubie won. The election is rigged.

  3. Given what's actually important going on in the country, if we're going to have a "debate" of tv ads between Kander and his military service criticizing senate pay raises, and Blunt making believe that Kander's role as Missouri Secretary of State has anything to do with Hillary's policies, it's going to a very long two and a half months until November.
Bread and circuses for the low information masses.
So what ARE their positions on unsolicited bulk mail?

  4. Thank you 6:33! Yes, spam may not be as big an issue as others, but it tells me a lot about a candidate, especially if he or she is willing to send spam to promote his or her campaign. They should only send e-newsletters or other bulk email to those who have explicitly opted-in.

Unfortunately, candidates don't seem to want to take the pledge to not send spam.

  5. Sending emails or making phone calls only to people who have opted in would be like preaching to the choir - they already support the candidate. The point is to reach people who are not committed.

  6. 8:31: Even if it violates netiquette and likely contracts signed with their email providers?

  7. Blunt may have some problems....but a man from Kansas (Kander) who lied to Missouri voters as Secretary of State, and who's taken BIG campaign donations from out-of-state special interests is in NO position to honestly represent Missouri.

Kander is an overly ambitious young man desperate to get to Washington, D.C. because his wife was a big fan of the West Wing!

  8. Solution for unsolicited bulk mail: Use your waste basket. Heck if you are that afraid of information, wear a blindfold while sorting your mail.

Good Ol' Boy Roy is an important part of the Blunt family lobbying business, guaranteeing access to himself and his colleagues in the Senate. It is hardly "going negative" to let the voters know how their Senate seat is being used.

I don't agree with Jason on every issue. Frankly, I find him a bit too conservative. But, the case for replacing "Lobbying Firm Blunt" with a smart, independent progressive is over-whelming.

  9. Email not mail. If you disagree still, please post your email address in a comment with explicit permission to add it to as many lists as I want. As you so eloquently stated, all you need to do is hit delete! (And be willing to sift through the spam to get to the messages you want.)

  10. Blunt +2. But Kander is making it very close.

Agree that email spam is detestable!
