A widely touted City Hall publicity stunt now confronts a Kansas City reality check and some expensive repairs . . .

As part of the dollar home deal, buyers have 120 days to correct code violations on the exterior of each house.

What's worse is that after all the cash invested, high crime and horrible schools won't earn back the money that has essentially been handed over to local government for a taxpayer subsidized beautification project that started for only a buck but requires THOUSANDS MORE worth of investment.
