Now, TKC doesn't necessarily have any problem with the principle of "Buy Black" because everybody has the right to do what they want with their money . . . Even if an effort based strictly on geography would be more effective, far less controversial and more inclusive and inviting to consumers throughout the city.

They had all these stores whose names began with "Your"...."Your diner" "Your Grocery",etc. They claimed they owned a farm in Georgia which supplied the food to these places. All black owned. Later, it was revealed they were buying their groceries at the old whole foods in Mission and up charging. As the story goes, no farm ever existed. Neat story.

I'm white. I own a business. In 22 years I've never had a black customer or client. I recently got invited to lunch with a couple of black professionals - they invited me and spent a couple of hours getting all kinds of free marketing advice. I got stuck with the check.
