MONUMENTAL DECISION CONFRONTS JACKSON COUNTY LEGISLATIVE CHAIR SCOTT BURNETT: HONOR 1,000 AFRICAN-AMERICANS OR ONE DEAD WHITE GUY!!!

Among Jackson County Insiders and community leaders there has been a recent MONUMENTAL CONTROVERSY over the priorities of Jackson County Legislative Chair Scott Burnett.

Check it:

URBAN CORE CRITICS CALL OUT SCOTT BURNETT FOR PROMOTING THE ALBERT REIDERER MONUMENT WHILE OFFERING A LUKEWARM RESPONSE TO A MEMORIAL THAT WILL HONOR 1,000 AFRICAN-AMERICAN LEADERS!!!

Take a look at the disparity . . .

Legislator Burnett doesn't seem too excited about the Memorial proposed by Bishop Tindall . . .

“I think it’s a good idea. We just have to see if we can afford it and where it fits into things,” said Scott Burnett, a county legislator.

However . . .

IF LEGISLATURE CHAIR SCOTT BURNETT IS SO CONCERNED ABOUT CASH . . . THEN WHY DID HE GLEEFULLY HELP TO SET ASIDE $250K TO HONOR ALBERT RIEDERER?!?!

This disparity isn't lost on insiders @ The Courthouse . . .

Here's a quote on the topic . . .

"Scott is showing why there is so much division among the residents of Jackson County. He clearly isn't paying attention to where the voters would like to see their money spent. The Leon Jordan memorial would honor more people and has a greater groundswell of support. And while Al was well liked by many, it's a very small and closed circle who want to see him memorialized. Scott Burnett needs to come to a decision, and pay attention to the bigger community concern and not just a few people from the Ward Parkway Corridor."

Unfortunately, mainstream media is keeping the $250K Riederer memorial quiet because most residents would balk at the expense for an old, rich white guy . . . How much cash is his family kicking-in???

And now it's an open question that should guide our Jackson County Legislative Chair . . .

IS IT MORE IMPORTANT TO HONOR THOUSANDS OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY LEADERS OR ONE LONG GONE POLITICO?!?!

You decide . . .

  1. I have seen the future. And it is pitchforks.

  2. That should be a very EASY decision !

  3. Instead of celebrating more of the D-list insiders, why not try actually managing how the county is run and what kind of services the RESIDENTS get?
Start with the disastrous assessment/taxation system and work out from there.
And if they really want to learn how to make tax money disappear into thin air, Bacchus is now one of them. They can learn at the feet of the master!

  4. Services? What services?

  5. “I think it’s a good idea. We just have to see if we can afford it and where it fits into things,”

LMAO from one of the toy trains biggest "pushers". Or pimps might be a better term.

  6. Scott's goal is a comfy and plush taxpayer funded retirement playing golf and putzing around on an electric cart to the clubhouse at fantasy land Oxford on the Blue.

    ReplyDelete
  7. And the public voice of reason says:

Spend NO money for a Riederer memorial!!!!

Spend NO money for an African-American leader memorial!!!!

    There it's settled.

    Mr. Tony,
Oh for Pete's sake! NO! No on the too soon Big Al memorial. Lord have mercy, that thing sitting on top of his grave is what you can stare at as you contemplate your loss.
NO! No on the Rev Tindall driven memorial. The lobby of the county courthouse can host a wall of rememberance for anyone deemed by all to be worthy of a second look.
Or paint over the hideous painting of failed Catherine Shields and put some name plates of nice people there.
    Your Welcomed.

BTW scott burnett is a nutless idiot.

Well, as an enlightened EMBracist who hasn't noticed skin color for decades, I'd say that surely calmer heads can prevail and all peoples can be celebrated equally.

  11. Mrs. Sweetie Pie is right.

Pissing away cash on ANY memorial while the streets, sewers and infrastructure is in such decay and the city is awash in crime is pathetic joke.

The first distraction, Big Al's monument which in turn is politicized by the usual grifter pukes who really could care less, nor probably name 5 or 10 of the so called African American leaders and are really interested in polarizing and excitein the base, which in turn, generates cash.

Catherine Sheilds was a fuckin crook. Jeeze this town would have been so much better off with a downtown stadium.

  13. Clinton Adams is not the voice of the community. Haven't his separatist ways caused enough damage already?

It's not the '60s anymore and the old "them vs us" crap was tiresome years ago. But all he know is how to divide people up, call some of them names, and screw the others for his own benefit.

Isn't there ANYBODY with some responsiblity, common sense, and some actual desire to serve the residents in minority communities? If so, please speak up. Allowing these bozos to make believe they're the leaders is giving everyone a bad name.

She should run for mayor. She's a superwoman.

    ReplyDelete
  15. How about we do neither? That's my vote.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Plus DeJanes isn't intimidated or afraid of these ass hats currently in charge. She could mop the floor with them.

  17. I normally throw bombs when posting, but Scott Burnett is a decent honorable man. Uncle Al? His "legend" vastly exceeds what he accomplished in real life.

  18. Nuck the Figgers

  19. Ya know, I am old enough to remember Mayor Charles Wheeler and thought he was a sniveling little crooked dirtbag. After seeing what we have now, he looks like Eisenhower. Ever notice all we hear from city hall is spending money on worthless shit we do not need? How about fixing the KCSD, the sewers, getting a game plan in place to get rid of the bullshit that frequents anything that generates revenue in this town I.e. the Plaza, Westport and OOF and WOF. People come from other states for these things and you act like you're going to offend people if you get rid of the trash. People move to large cities and towns for jobs, nightlife, schools, culture, and low crime rates. This city has none of that and selling Overland Park is not going to work anymore for I am seeing more and more bullshit drift that way as well. I guess what I am saying is, I miss a real leader. Not a bunch of phonies that couldn't take care of a wet dream.

  20. I am afraid to say anything.

  21. Scott is a closet Racists

  22. It's no wonder the Black community get to bitch they are still fighting for their rights. It's dumb comments like Burnetts that gives them a forum.

  23. Scott you just threw Tindall to the wolfs could you lighten up and help.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Someone please file against him next time.

    ReplyDelete
  25. QUASH BOTH!!!! The money could AND SHOULD be put to better use.

  26. I'd like to see a statue of Polar Bear instead!

  27. Read about Leon Jordan. He is truly one of the most interesting and noteworthy people of this city. It's unfortunate that so few people in the city are aware of what he did not just here but around the world.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is better than Scott's usual problem, which camera shot makes him look better. What a pretty boy he thinks he is! Sorry Scott, it's only in your mind...

  29. 7:48 PM Nor is Freedom, Inc. Urban Scumbags, Black Agenda, etc., etc. They are the voice of the small group that gather among them weekly. They are not the pulse of the African American community; they only believe they are.

Clinton Adams, James Tindall should STFU. Freedom, Inc is a dead carcass killed decades ago but still lying in the road of everyday traffic stinking up Kansas City politics.

Why we need to revisit this year after year and celebrate yet another Black male who was gunned down is ridiculous. These folks act as if Leon Jordan's prestige and influence extends beyond the Third District. Nationally, nobody could name this guy.

Celebrating people for relatively small, insignificant feats is better handled by a certificate or plaque. Huge murals, monuments and street naming should be reserved for those who had a real impact for humankind. You can make the case for Mandela and King, both Nobel Peace Price Winners.

There is no valor due Leon Jordan or any other name they can possibly dream up. No doubt that the 1000 names would include Tindall and a host of other grifters.

Getting voters register is what the Board of Elections does every day.

Same goes for the Al Reider memorial. He also lacks any specific accomplishment that would entitle him to such honor.

What both tributes have in common is that they are connected to political scum and gained their ascension therefrom. That's not honor that is nepotism.

  30. I have know Scott many years and he does not look at race he does what he thinks is right

  31. The State of Missouri seriously needs a constitutional amendment that prohibits the State, County, City, School District or Municipality from raising or establishing taxes, fees or licensing or increasing any such without a vote of the people. This is the only way we are going to neuter these power crazy bastards

    ReplyDelete
  32. Scott Burnett it is time to leave. You have contributed zip to the county. Your Johnson Controls contract was worthless. County buildings have not recouped the exorbitant expense in utilities savings. That damned phone contract was another boondoggle.
Sigh...... Do we really have to hear about how you were a speech writer for the Whitehouse? Damn! That was the Carter Whitehouse and you were a junior staffer.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Why spend public funds on any monuments. Let promoters raise the funds.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Scott Burnett should be ashamed of himself. Absolutely ashamed. What a waste of public funds for a dead guy. Let private funds pay for this idiotic idea. maybe use some of the money he looted from the insolvent insurance companies to build his pharoah's tomb.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Leave Scott alone, he cares more than 99% of the other politicians in this shitty city.

    ReplyDelete
  36. They build statues and monuments while County employees are on food stamps. I love how all these liberal pukes are so worried about the poor and then don't pay their employees a living wage.
