  1. They will win by 40 points.

  2. Sly James assured many of us that he wouldn't work with Glorioso.
    Glorioso is a walking ethics complaint.

    AND Al Figuly is gone!

    Sly will deal with a lot of unintended consequences in his second term. This is just a couple.

  3. Sly said a lot of things.

    Just ask the fire fighters.

    His word means nothing.

  4. Who does Russ represent? Not the 2nd District!

  7. The owner of the private Branson Airport is accusing Burns & McDonnell and three other firms of designing and building a $70 million runway foundation that partially collapsed just two years after the facility opened in 2009.

    That says it all doesnt it?

  8. Sly was right when he said that the firefighters were stupid.
    KCFD really believed the promises Sly made when he wanted to get elected?

    Sly did a beautiful job using 42 and KCFD. He made them stay in the background far enough not to be tainted by any of 42's negatives. But when it came time to collect their money and the support they could provide, he sucked it up.

    Now, he doesn't need you. He has a fat campaign account and no opposition in the wings.

    The big threat now is that Louie will run against Davis. Who cares? If he could win and he can't, one council seat?!?!? The most Louie could hope to do is be the next John Sharp and be a pain in the mayor's sizable rear. (I don't think Louie is as smart as John though.) The mayor will isolate him and walk right over him.

    Yeah, you are morons and are getting exactly what you deserve! It is the rest of KC that I feel bad for.

  9. streetcar will lose by a very wide margin.

  10. That ain't no bitch. That's Mensa boy. He's so important he posts in all caps. All the time. After all he's gonna need a job after he terms out next year.

  11. Russ Johnson will be ADR's new boy!

  12. $685,000 to knock on doors? How much is that per door? I want that job!

  13. A Modern Miniver
    (with apologies to Edwin Arlington Robinson)

    Mensa Boy, child of scorn,
    Grew bald while he assailed the seasons;
    His family wept that he was ever born,
    And they had reasons.

    Mensa Boy loved the days of old
    When rails were fixed and passengers pacing;
    The vision of a streetcar sign
    Would set his heart a-racing.

    Mensa Boy sighed for what was not,
    And dreamed, and rested from his labors;
    He dreamed of wresting the Trolley Trail,
    From its troublesome neighbors.

    Mensa Boy hated the buses in the town
    That made their runs on rubber tires;
    He mourned term limits and became a clown,
    Hoping to become one of Someone’s hires.

    Mensa Boy loved the streetcar bell,
    Albeit he had never heard one;
    He would have sinned incessantly
    If only he could have rung one.

    Mensa Boy cursed the commonplace
    And eyed the ATA with loathing;
    He missed the midcentury grace
    Of fixed railing.

    Mensa Boy scorned the job he sought,
    But sore annoyed would he be without it;
    Mensa Boy thought, and thought, and thought,
    And thought about it.

    Mensa Boy, born too late,
    Shaved his head and kept on thinking;
    Mensa Boy coughed, and called it fate,
    And his poll numbers kept on sinking.

  14. This will be a repeat of last Spring's fabulous medical researc tax for St. Luke's and Children's Mercy.

    What was that? 85-15%?

    Weren't Larry and Steve two of the "never lose" big guys behind that?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ewwww. Steve Glorioso. Now I'll have to go wash my hands.

    Russ and Steve don't like each other, I wonder, how this is going to work?

  17. Just let Sly and these guys keep shooting themselves in the foot every time they open their mouths.

    If anything it makes for great entertainment if you enjoy comedy of error.

  18. I can't wait to watch the election returns with a case of beer, laughing my ass off when this gets voted down as bad as the health care tax BOONDOGGLE!!!!!!! OK, Mensa boy, you can comment now.

    ReplyDelete
  19. That looks fun, less expensive than the toy train.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I bet this is as well thought out and legally sound and the last 2 lawsuit the out of town money men financed to override the will of the voters.

    The vote no on everything "crowd" sure does like pissing away taxpayer money on frivolous lawsuit and trumped up charges.

  21. The Toy Train 101

    #1. Powerful individuals decide on a concept for a big project behind closed doors.

    #2. They line up the support of a handful of “community representatives” whose support they need. Heretofore, these folks will do all the work of promoting the project.

    #3. A “study” is completed. Then more study's. The study's, everyone understands, is to be a marketing tool, not an actual investigation of the project’s merits. No alternative concepts will receive formal study. The “study” will claim the powerful people’s idea will generate thousands of jobs. (As if large amounts of public spending could take place without some jobs being created.)

    #4. A sham public process takes place. This is designed not really to incorporate public feedback but to make the process seem democratic and manufacture consent for the concept that was already decided a long time ago behind closed doors.

    #5. Our “community representatives” from step 2 do a big media campaign, repeating carefully chosen talking points about how great it will be for the city and how many jobs will be produced. The media — which is very much a part of the power structure and answers to the same people — uncritically accepts the claims.

    Etc, etc, etc.

  22. Remember that Glorioso is a scumbag and was sued for being a liar of the worst kind. Check this out from the 90's (and despite this the KC Star still quotes him...lol):
    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole will give a deposition next month in a defamation lawsuit over allegations by a talk-show host that Dole once helped a Mission, Kan., woman obtain an abortion.

    In the presidential campaign in September 1996, on the KMBZ-AM radio show "Friendly Fire," host Steve Glorioso said Dole "had an affair that was well-known with another woman named Phyllis Wells. She got pregnant. With his consent, took her to KU Med (University of Kansas Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kan.). Had an abortion."

  24. Tony's and his Nancy's have finally found the loose thread that will take the entire light rail project down.

    HAhahahahahahahahahahahah.

  25. Vote no on everything these criminals
    ask for. Then vote no on them.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Vote yes on streetcar and vote no on MoDOT and Fire. Those greedy bastards from Jefferson City and KCFD will never get another vote from me. At least streetcar has a chance of improving KCMO.

  29. If you can beat em at the polls, try to tie em up in court cases and bogus bullshit.

    The anti side desperation is comical at this point. That's what happens when the head lemmings are such minds as Mike Bushnell, Sherry Dejanes and Dan Coffey.

  30. Steve Gloryhole. The late Rich Nadler, publisher of KC Jones, used to call him spaghetti brains. Rich, RIP, the current political scene sure could use someone with your integrity and wit.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's sad to watch you guys.

    Everything is a plot to annihilate aimed directly at you personally.

    Every action outside of your immediate view is done with malevolent intent.

    Every person you don't know is somehow against you, and even those you do know have almost infinite potential for corruption by the outside world.

    God is forever forsaking you.

    How do you get through the day when that's your reality?
