I can't help, but to suggest these prosecutors had information that would have cause a rape charge to be a train wreck. Was it coming from a good portion of the juvenile male population in Maryville? Was it coming from one on one interviews with the alleged victim? Was it coming from third parties who would have ultimately testified for the defense? Unless you were in the bedroom with these kids, unless you heard the conversation, unless you were drinking the same stuff they were, unless you were interviewing the witnesses there is no way you can know either the truth or the dynamics surrounding this entire issue. Now go take one more attempt at passing the bar exam and then give it a rest.

It's called a suspended imposition of sentence disposition (SIS) - and it's a great way for prosecutors to grandstand and say they did something in the name of justice, when the net effect is that the perp is convicted of nothing, records are closed, and he can go on his merry way once he goes to anger control class and apologizes.
