TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! CRITICS CALL OUT UPCOMING TV NEWS SPECIAL FEATURING TOUR OF KCI FLAWS!!!
The latest gambit in the crusade for a multi-BILLION dollar Kansas City single-terminal airport involves a rather crass effort to manipulate local media viewers.
To wit . . .
CRITICS OF THE NEW SINGLE-TERMINAL PLAN RAGE OVER AN UPCOMING PUBLIC RELATIONS STUNT INVOLVING A KCI TOUR FOCUSED ON THE FAULTS OF THE EXISTING STRUCTURES!!!
More . . .
WORD OF THE PR STUNT AIRPORT TOUR HAS LEAKED BECAUSE THE TACTIC IS SO CYNICAL AND LAME!!!
A defender of KCI says . . .
"It's an airport that's 40 years old, of course there are going to be some problems but it's still cheaper and much more environmentally friendly to renovate KCI rather than continue this push to wastefully tear down Kansas City's airport and build something new and not as convenient."
Thinking . . .
IT SEEMS THAT THE "ADULT DISCUSSION" TOUTED BY MAYOR SLY MOSTLY CONSISTS OF SINGLE-TERMINAL PLAN SUPPORTERS REGROUPING AND TRYING TO MAKE THEIR CASE AGAIN IN THE MEDIA!!!
The insider/back channel mainstream media manipulation effort is typical of City Hall and a big PR firm that STILL refuse to take into account what residents and neighborhoods really want.
Accordingly . . .
The tragic flaw and Achilles' heel of Mayor Sly's tenure has been his inability and unwillingness to listen to neighborhoods and the community on a myriad of different subjects now including KCI. Instead, the high-powered lawyer and current top ranking politico simply relies on insiders with their own agenda and motives.
And in the final analysis, word of the TV News tour publicity stunt to create negative sentiment for the current KCI Aiport is nothing more than a slick public relations stunt that insiders hope will be thwarted by THIS advance preview of the hit piece posted FIRST on TKC. Natch.
Developing . . .
Better title for TKC - Sneak preview: Save the money and fix the sewers.
ReplyDeleteThe save KCI people are delusional. They probably still wear leisure suits and listen to the Bee Gee's.
ReplyDelete8:29 Shoot the messenger when you have no message. KCMO is determined not to have a serious debate on the issue. Just PR firm bull and media tours.
ReplyDeleteBee Gee's ????
ReplyDeleteThe critics best defense is to show the flaws in the KCI plan. That's the only hope. Get us a report asap!
ReplyDeleteZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteHey Russ... Haha on the Bee Gees comment. But your weak attempt at slamming people trying to be responsible and save a perfectly good city asset that only dates back to the Bee Gees is hypocritical since you are wasting millions to bring back a streetcar dating back to Glenn Miller.
ReplyDeleteRight now I have learned to accept the single termanial. Its coming wheather we like it or not.
ReplyDeletegp has been trying to parade newsies through that dump for months. old news
ReplyDeleteBranson??? Really???? Russ is an ass.
ReplyDeleteFLASH -- A 37-part mini series will be produced to highlight all of Kansas City's flaws.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best thing out there on KCI.
ReplyDeleteCincinnati did the same thing KC is doing now.

10:04 AM You're an idiot! People like you make events like Independence Day nothing more than a mindless excersie of economy! If all Americans behaved like you, there would be no America at all. Instead, we'd be a middle eastern country or worse North Korea. Get a f'ing clue.
ReplyDeleteHow about a tour of KCMO's flaws, City Hall, KCPD, KCFD, east side and west side.
ReplyDeleteA Tour of KCMO's successes would take much less time.
ReplyDeleteThere has been much discussion over the past couple of month about building a new single terminal at KCI at a cost of just 1.2 billion dollars. What have we learned from all the discussions and study? The people with the power and money in Kansas City want this because they will make even more money from it and they are the same people who puts the mayor and city council in office; therefore, Kansas City will get the new terminal like it or not.
ReplyDeleteRemember what is good for JE Dunn is good for Kansas City.
It's sad but I've lived in KC long enough to know this last comment is 100% correct.
ReplyDeleteAs you know the old KCI was to have a moveable walk way didn't happen ,said the cost was to high. No one said that there was not enough room to put it in. Plus it was to be a International Airport ,well that didn't happen . The meeting on Thursday will go like the Light Rail meeting,so no one can say their peace. As you know the city wanted light rail and we told them that streetcars were the way to go [ member of NAG] So now you see streetcars coming . 13 years wasted and now they start on the streetcars 13 years later.
ReplyDeleteThe City Council fails to listen to the facts or the people.
Kansas City is not a tourism city, and we will not be in the big leagues any time soon. The council has made up their minds, their lack of using common sense is the norm. Maybe a entrance way for security in between the two terminals could solve the problem .but they don't want to listen.
