WELCOME TO THE KANSAS CITY SMACKDOWN . . . A PUBLIC OPINION FORUM WHERE LOCALS DECIDE BETWIXT TWO LOCAL TOPICS!!!
Let's start with two higher profile members of Mayor Sly's Rubber Stamp Council.
To wit . . .
TONIGHT WE ASK: SCOTT TAYLOR OR SCOTT WAGNER - WHO IS THE BETTER (OR WORSE) KANSAS CITY COUNCIL DUDE?!?!
Let's look at their record:
6th District Council Dude Scott Taylor
Pros:
- Hot Wife Cathy Jolly
- Only Council Dude on record asking critical questions about the new KCI
- Surprisingly, not as much of an empty suit as we expected.
Cons:
- Hot wife Cathy Jolly is still the more powerful politico in this power broker marriage even though she's out of office.
- Council Dude Taylor clearly aspires to Midtown/Ward Parkway Corridor political scene more than he really wants hang in Kansas City's 6th District wasteland.
- Hasn't made many friends on the Council - Dick Davis doesn't count.
And then . . .
1st District Council Dude Scott Wagner
Pros
- Familiar with City Council legislative tricks and isn't afraid to use them when backed into a corner.
- Takes order from Mayor Sly more obediently than any other male Council dude.
- Averages more words per minute than any other member of Council.
Cons
- Known for hating home schooling and didn't really consider them for his teen crackdown bill.
- City Council champion of useless legislation.
- Spends far too much time in his second gig as footstool for Mayor Sly.
And so . . .
We juxtapose these two Council Dudes in different because they both represent what most are calling "the worst City Council Kansas City has seen in years" but from opposite sides of town.
NOW IT'S UP TO YOU KANSAS CITY . . . IN THIS FIRST TKC SMACKDOWN . . . TELL US WHICH CITY COUNCIL DUDE IS WORSE!!!

ReplyDeleteI think Wagner is great, no matter what you say. Homeschooling is nutty, but I don't know that he hates it. He's good and he has the best council aide. If you need something corrected, call his aide.

Scott is cool and your right he is one of the few ones that actually asks questions. Personally, I think redoing the new airport is just as wasteful as the new toy train. But like you said, at least he dares to inquire. As far as Cathy goes...she has always been a bit if a force to be reckoned with. When it comes to Russ...getting anything out of his office is like pulling a nor out of a rhino. If Riss could wrap his head around getting a better bed side manner to him...he would go farther. So I guess my vote goes to Scott on this one.

Wife Cathy is messing with Council using Taylor's position, while Sanders pays her $50k for a part-time job to screw over KCMO.
Taylor doesn't kiss Mayor's ass because Taylor takes orders from wife Cathy and Mike Sanders, and Sanders hates Sly.
Wagner: works five times harder than Taylor and cares that much more, too.
Wagner has publicly spoken out against the new airport terminal, with more force and sense than Taylor.
Wagner understands the legislative process. Taylor understands it as much as Jolly did, which means not at all.
Wagner's wife is a beautiful, classy woman.
Taylor's wife is, well...Cathy Jolly.
Wagner wins on every point, hands down.
Too bad neither one will grow a set of balls and fire the city manager POS.
