KC MUST READ!!! INGRAM'S EDITOR'S NOTE: "A STREETCAR NAMED CONSPIRE"

Kansas City biz mag Ingram's sums things up quite nicely in their latest Editor's Note that pretty much takes apart the Downtown Toy Train Streetcar piece by piece . . .

Ingram's Editor's Note: "A Streetcar Named Conspire"

Money Line:

"After all, the city has dipped into “other” funds to clear $6 million in engineering studies for the line, on top of an original $3 million outlay for that same purpose. And just last week, I received the first bill that would represent another $1,000 or so in the annual property-tax levy for the streetcar project. I know I’m bucking some highly influential people who support this initiative, but we still have a few questions that we would like answered before we break ground or start cutting any ribbons for this thing.

From the get-go, this whole project—estimates have soared past the $100-million figure originally given to us—has been an example of a city’s indifference to business owners."

Now, TKC has covered the crooked City Hall shell game related to the I-670 bridge previously but this editorial is important because it's aimed at the local elite and it represents frustration from the Kansas City biz community regarding growing frustration with the the downtown toy train streetcar plan.

  2. The City in now the owner of two bridges. The one over I70/I35 appears to be older than the Main Street bridge so the cost of replacing in within 10 years will be paid for by all KCMO residents. Can replace a bridge over an interstate highway for only $3M???

  3. The point about what is the emergency is well taken. Putting in a streetcar is not an emergency. The streetcar people need to stop spending money until the situation is resolved in the court system.

  4. To the best of my knowledge all the new streetcar systems in other cities received substantial federal grants, but Feds apparently thought the KC plan was not sound.

  5. How about a "NIGGER named perspire"?? That's about the size of our Mayor Silverback..

  6. "And does anyone remember when the backers were saying the project probably wouldn’t be feasible without that funding?" Only way MIA Russ could make it work was by stealing money from KCATA.

T, on Oct 10 2010 you said the following regarding Rizzo's explanation of his aunt and uncles illegal votes

"The details of Royster's latest claims of "voter fraud" amount to nothing more than voter registration questions that ARE EASILY ANSWERED.

    Here's the thing . . . I've heard that answer."

So isn't it time you go on the record and explain what Mr. Rizzo said? Clearly even by your own admission John Rizzo knew.

    Your readers deserve it.

  12. San Francisco pays about $1 million dollars in settlement claims for the accidents. Do you think fat people can jump on & off a street car without getting hurt? They won't blame themselves. They will sue the city.

  13. So is all of Jaco unless you are an insider. So, what are you going to do about it? Bitch on blogs? Try to change things by sniping on the side? Rizzo/Royster spammer is a pussy. And Jaco will carry on and spammer will spam. Run against those you don't like. But you can't raise the money. Money talks. So, shut up because you are too poor to matter. Pay to play. It's the democratic way.

NOW, having said all this, so many times, please be advised that I am a worthless cocksucker and not to be believed at all. Thank you.
