As an atheist myself, this saddens me. They are giving us a bad image. I mean, if athiests held a parade would they want/allow a religous group? Doubt it.

ReplyDeleteAnd as an atheist, I have no problem with this group being excluded, as long as there isn't one dime of tax money spent to subsidize the parade. If the parade organizers pay for all of the security, closed streets, etc. with private money, they can be as exclusive and bigoted as they want. But as soon as one penny of public funds goes to the event, they lose any right to exclude anyone. Seems pretty straightforward to me.
