COMING SOON!!! SECOND STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS FROM MAYOR SLY JAMES!!!

During his rookie address Mayor Sly James made a major mistake by failing to even mention Kansas City's murder rate. Still, the crowd was adoring and there was a sense of hope.

This time around . . .

MOST OF KANSAS CITY WAS OUTRAGED BY LACKLUSTER SNOW REMOVAL AND CITY HALL THREATENING FINES!!!

Even worse . . .

PROGRESS ON KANSAS CITY'S TRAGIC HOMICIDE NUMBERS HAS BEEN HARD FOUGHT AND THE MURDER COUNT IS CONSTANT, HIGHER THAN LAST YEAR AND SHOWS NOW SIGN OF ABATING!!!

Also . . .

SKYROCKETING COSTS OF ONE PET PROJECT AFTER THE NEXT HAVE RAISED DOUBTS ABOUT FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY AT CITY HALL!!!

Oh yeah, and speaking of financial mismanagement . . .

WHERE'S THE $15K?!?!

We're looking for answers for these questions and so many more.

RSVP for the State of The City 2013 right here.

Sadly, I'm told that we can mostly expect more hype about the toy train (despite a serious lawsuit) and this town's recovering bond rating that rigged fixed thanks to political pressure.

Pretty serious and specific statement, Tony. Can you tell me how you determined this?

Even as I read your own com boxes, opinion seemed pretty much divided between those who thought the city did a pretty good job under the circumstances, and the whiners who thought the world had ended when they didn't get their trash picked up for one week, that their streets weren't plowed down to the pavement immediately after both storms ended, and those who griped that their street was plowed, but that the snow was pushed onto their sidewalks.

Dear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info!! As for the KCMO crime issue, the black neighborhoods of KCMO have been having homicide rates similar to Detroit, Camden and East Saint Louis since the spring of 2008--so I very much hope that the Mayor defies the local versions of the PC police and discusses this issue in his "State of the City" address. Take care!! Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans

  5. Ernest:

From your mouth to God's ears. Sly doesn't have the cojones to address the issue of black on black crime and the real reasons for it. There is a big difference between What Would Jesus Do and What Sly Will Do.

  6. 10. Kansas City

By 2010, Kansas City spent more than $700 million in public funds on renovating Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadiums, respective homes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Despite the update, the $255 million renovation of Kauffman Stadium in 2009 has not helped the Royals to boost attendance. The team has filled less than 60% of its seats for three years in a row–among the worst in Major League Baseball. But this was not even the most excessive use of taxpayer money for sports stadiums in the region. In 2007, the Sprint Center opened with the hope of attracting an NBA or NHL team. More than five years later, the stadium still does not have a team and both professional leagues have indicated that expanding or moving teams to the area is unlikely.

Dear 9:44: You are right about the issue of black-on-black crime. 93% of black homicide victims are at the hands of other blacks--which you would never guess if all you paid attention to are the media frenzies over the rare cases of white on black homicides. Black-on-black homicides are the "orphan issue" of US politics: No one wants to touch the issue because they are afraid of being denounced by the PC police. Whatever can be said of Alonzo Washington, at least he is willing to do something constructive to fight black-on-black violence. Take care!! Sincerely, Respectfully and In Christ, Ernest Evans

  12. This is a serious question here. Are any of you snivelling bitches former military? I am curious if you have any concept of how weak and needy you all sound. How well can you expect a Mayor to perform when the civilian population is teeming with a bunch of whining, complaint shit bags that are softer than baby shit. SNOW REMOVAL,,, my heroes,,, get a fucking shovel,,, there's your snow removal. From every Marine on the planet,,, we hate fighting for you and claiming you as ours.
    A a United States Marine,,,
