CELEBRATE SLIGHTLY LESS KILLING IN KANSAS CITY BUT DON'T MENTION SUBURBAN VIOLENCE SPILLOVER!!!

A look at Kansas City crime stats for last year reveals slightly less killing within the city limits.

Kansas City's homicide rate dropped in 2012

Kansas City’s Crime Rate Down, Just Barely

Already a few of early morning TKC readers have noticed the cautious optimism of the Police Chief and other politicos who aren't celebrating these numbers that are still tragically high and out of sync with our population numbers and other national trends in cities of KCMO's size.

Still . . .

WHAT LOWER KANSAS CITY CRIME STATS DON'T REVEAL IS THE INCREASED LEVEL OF VIOLENCE, CRIME AND MURDER IN SURROUNDING CITIES!!!

Last year the Independence, MO Police Chief publicly blamed Kansas City policing efforts for increasing crime within his jurisdiction as he asked for more funds.

Residents in Grandview, Raytown and even some parts of the Golden Ghetto blame Kansas City for their increases in crime.

Obviously, there is very little sympathy for these satellite cities that have always enjoyed a parasitic placement in the vicinity of KCMO . . . But the spillover of Kansas City murder, violence and crime is often overlooked.

A few less murders in Kansas City is a good thing but the lack of celebration of this fact might reveal local leaders realizing that so many anti-violence efforts have failed to address the root causes of so much cowtown killing.

  1. I think the correct term is called "displacement" but I see why you used that terminology.

  2. What about white collar crime?

  3. "Spillover", "displacement", "pick your word", but the real reason is simple...NIGGERS. They do the killing, stealing, robbing, raping, whatever. Again, just fucking NIGGERS.

  4. Post the demographics on crime in the suburbs.

  5. mixed.

Turns out white people kill each other too.

  6. Not at near the same rate as blacks. Those independence murders were by hispanics so its the same as in the city.

  7. What KCMO is really trying to say is everything is OK with the crime situation so on with the train and 1,000 room hotel. So the newspaper does what it always does and supports this nonsense.

  8. Hey there 7:30, exactly how many of the 108 murders in Kansas City last year, were white people, shooting white people?? No, I didn't think you'd answer...you fucking douche!

  9. These suburbs sure don't complain when our businesses relocate to their cities. Its only fair they get some of the blacks to go with it.

Dear Mr. Tony: Actually, I thought that the article in the Star was pretty good--it gave a solid summary of where we are today as far as crime in KCMO. Of course, the "elephant in the room" that no one in KCMO wants to mention is the sharp distinction in crime rates in KCMO between black neighborhoods and white/asian/hispanic neighborhoods. KCMO's black neighborhoods have crime rates on the level of Detroit or East Saint Louis (which is the main reason why Missouri ranks No. 1 in the nation in black homicides in proportion to the state's black population), the neighborhoods populated by other races have homicide rates only a little above the national average. Now, for the various racists ready to say "what do you expect from n*******" let me point out that in Washington DC, a city that is 60% black, Chief Cathy Laniear has gotten black homicides down to about 16 per 100,000 black residents--while KCMO and Detroit's figures are about 60 black homicides per 100,000 black residents. So, if DC can make great strides in making black neighborhoods safe, so too can KCMO. Take care!! Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

      Bravo...
      Well said, well meaning perspective.
Now, how to make those usual suspects you so often speak of to take notice?

  11. Ernest Evans -

D.C. is like a mini Police State. The numbers of police per capita is huge. That could not be done in KC without it bankrupting the place.
