With new taxes courtesy of Mayor Sly and a newspaper that's on life support things should be just peachy.

HAVE YOU NOTICED WATER DEPARTMENT IMPROVEMENT KANSAS CITY?!?!

Didn't think so.

In fact, there have been more complaints than usual from City Staff and customers alike . . . But, as usual, in KC there aren't many complaints from consultants.

  1. The plates are bigger now, nice improvment. Oh, and the pretty effect as the water freezes on the pavement from leaks they do not fix, nice! Good job water department!!

  2. The Water Department is certainly doing better for the $250 per hour consultant.

  3. I was gonna say, for two hundred and fifty bucks and hour, the fucker should have fixed whatever he found. What a total waste of money!!

  4. It's never surprising when a $250/hour consultant discovers that his work produced a really good result.
Of course, this guy's a retired KCPL executive, so it took him a while to figure out if the water was AC or DC.
Now he should go over to the KCPD!

  5. I'm actually pretty pleased with the water department itself. My neighborhood is old, with shit pipes that burst semi-monthly. They are very responsive and helpful. You can't blame them for the fact that KC is not spending to replace our crumbling infrastructure. They just patch what they can and move on.

  6. At $250 per hour what's the incentive to get things done quickly?

  7. Only improvement I've noticed is how much more on time the water bills get to us.

  8. When customers call and complain, the Water Dept simply "investigates" and says there isn't a problem or it is "adequately" repaired. Shoddy workmanship and negligent project management issues are simply ignored. Then the City closes the case number and everyone thinks its been fixed. FRAUD!

  9. They are estimating water usage on vacant buildings and structures with no water meter or service; then billing property owners for service. That's hardly an improvement given that there's no service. Sounds like more extortion. What a joke!

    A city that works.
    Just not for you.
