An interesting difference in opinion during this Halloween, election time silly season:
Kansas City's Mayor Sly still touts his Toy Train:
Streetcar line would help attract young creatives, Kansas City mayor says
Meanwhile . . .
THE KANSAS CITY STAR COMES OUT AGAINST THIS VERSION OF THE DOWNTOWN TOY TRAIN STREETCAR IN A RECENT EDITORIAL!!!
It's always a bit frightening when The Star gets one right . . . Sadly, this vote has been rigged effectively by Kansas City corporations and exceedingly compliant politicos . . . So voters might want to abandon all hope of having their voices heard despite a bill that will haunt this town many years from now.
ONE MORE TIME: YOU CANNOT TURN KANSAS CITY INTO PORTLAND. The demographics do not support it.
ReplyDeleteYoung creatives cannot afford to live downtown along the Toy Train route.
ReplyDeleteThose that can won't ride it. They'll drive their car a few blocks.
Then they'll move out of downtown the first promotion they get!
Toy train, just some local politicians who want to hang their name on something. What a shame. Especially when the funds could be used for some basic services.

Of course it is rigged. Just as is anything large in KC.
