Kansas City Biz School Diploma Mills Compete

I'm sorry . . . Your "Executive" MBA with credits offered for "life experience" only qualifies graduates for low level political government work.

Colleges build to compete in business school 'arms race'

Much more importantly . . . Questions about Missouri's college savings plan are more important and reveal that Democrat Clint Zweifel could be in trouble for his reelection bid.

  1. This KC Star story is written from the schools' viewpoint...to get into the act and be competitive. You can also look at it from the students' viewpoint. Many adults want to go back to school to get the MBA to advance their career when they hit their own educational ceilings on career advancement.

And they may not know it, but when they're not looking, they WILL learn more critical thinking and more business principles that they didn't get in undergrad school.

Most people do get into the business world... universities are (finally) doing something to give students what they want...business education beyond traditional theoretical basics. While there are lots of places to get an overpriced degree, there aren't lots of places to help students hit the ground running as they begin their careers.

Business typically hires new grads based on their education (that's all they have besides experience in fast food). But business also realizes they graduated with virtually NO ready-to-eat business skills. Hopefully universities will become MUCH MORE career education oriented. As these new efforts seem to show they intend to do.

German business, working to teach students to become good employees, have a massive APPRENTICESHIP program where they pay them to work and learn. Business doesn't seem to want to invest that way here in the US. There's been some national press on this program, using SIEMANS as the central example. Check it.

  2. Funny you mentioned "executive mba" I wonder if you think the same thing holds true for law graduates from non-accredited/bottom ranked local universities (UMKC law?)??? As far as low level political/government jobs????

  3. So what is the point of having a MBA if everyone has a MBA?

  4. Everyone still seeks the MBA, even when they have no independent interest in the subject. They’d never read an economics book, had no attraction to business. They want to look attractive to Wall Street and the investment banks.

  5. A MBA sure helped Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. Anyone who thinks a MBA degree will bring them success is already too fucking stupid to make it in business.

  6. To err is human but if you really want to fuck up a business, hire bunch of MBAs.
