Headline Writers Clearly Hate Kansas City Star Columnist Mary Sanchez Too!!!

Credit where it's due . . .

Mary Sanchez wrote a rather thoughtful column on the difference between diversity and race-based tokenism providing a great example o . . . It's something she has a great deal of experience with and we all work better when we write what we know.

Sadly . . . The headline captures EXACTLY the opposite angle of the article:

"Ending race-based slots would not serve justice"

Now, just about everybody knows that newsies don't write their own headlines despite the fact that most people just read the header and a few graphs and move on . . .

While this could have been intentional and possibly a bit of trolling . . . What I've always suspected and heard is that nobody hates the people working for The Star more than the people working for The Star . . . And all their former disgruntled employees as well.

Also . . . I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the fact that really rail against "race-based" affirmative action aren't really serious given the fact that (data suggests) schools or workplaces admitting or hiring based only on test scores would quickly result in Asian and Indian dominance that NOBODY is fighting for . . .

Finally . . . None of this is as interesting as Rosa Acosta and dead tree media outlet dedicated to her booty body of work.

  1. Here is a quote from Mary's column.

"Indeed, the subtext of the backlash against affirmative action and “diversity” is that the white student is always more deserving."

    Mary makes a good point.

Why do we need a subtext?

Get the Government out of the way.

Let the test scores determine enrollment.

    Suspend Affirmative Action TODAY!

  2. Another quote.

"Low-income, white students, including children from rural areas, often benefit equally from such considerations."

Once again, suspend Affirmative Action initiatives TODAY.

The cost has been too, too high.

Jay Leno: Hey! Our Asians are just as smart as yours.

A lot of white people think of this country as a white country. Actually, less then half are white.

Rednecks like 9:24 shouldn't even bother to comment. The world has passed them by.

  9. You've articulated exactly why Romney can't win. The gays won't vote for him, the Muslims won't vote for him, the Latinos won't vote for him, the blacks won't vote for him, the women won't vote for him, the old people won't vote for him, etc. There aren't enough inbred rednecks to carry the day.

As a personal aside: Your need to pretend I'm gay is way too important to you. Why, is that?

    AND

I'd rather talk to Ms. Sanchez, then you. Natch.
