Once again TKC Readers are ahead of the curve given that we've been following the new hotness in Kansas City hip-hop for quite some time. It has also been interesting to see Mayor Sly's son Kyle James (KJ) pretty much contradict just about everything his dad is trying to do accomplish while accompanied by some great drumbeats.
To wit . . .
APPARENTLY, MAYOR SLY'S SON KJ AND HIS "COA" (CENTER OF ATTENTION) PARTNER KEMET "THE PHANTOM" COLEMAN ARE SOON TO BE FEATURED ON THE COVER OF THE PITCH!!!
Mr. Coleman confirmed this today via social media:
"I am happy to announce that Center of Attention (COA) (me and Kyle KJ James) will be on the COVER OF The Pitch Kansas City next week for their featured piece by Justin Kendall!!! Major!!!"
The duo are busy promoting their hip-hop offerings so the cover is exceptionally timely . . .
Synesthesia by thePhantom* was an exceptionally impressive Summer collection of songs.
And then . . .
It has been interesting to see that Mayor Sly's son KJ slowed down his arrest rate while working on his Barz4Daze Mixtape. And again, the lyrical celebration of misogyny and violence from KJ follows rap music formula but isn't exactly the message that his dad Mayor Sly James wants to put on blast.
We're looking forward to seeing what The Pitch comes up with but we would be remiss if we didn't note that most Kansas City media watchers turned to TKC to read the details FIRST. Natch.
