Remember: J.C. Nichols Fountain On Plaza Now Purple To Honor World Alzheimer's Month

September is World Alzheimer's Month. Worldwide, 35 million people and their families are affected by dementia.

To mark the occasion J.C. Nichols Fountain On Kansas City's Country Club Plaza features purple colored water that isn't some kind of horrible accident.

Walking through Mill Creek Park to take these pix I noticed it's a tad more old and busted than I remember . . .

Still, this tribute is still a nice way to honor those impacted by the Alzheimer's and there was more to this story but I totally forgot . . .

  1. Your attempt at humor with this dreaded and awful disease, is pitiful and stupid.

  4. A lot of photos and words over such an insignificant event. Alzheimers is a serious issue for our elderly, but a purple fountain is uh, a complete waste of media attention.

Vote for medical research. THAT's much more important than subtly flavored waterfountains!

You'll find that kind of stuff on the Democratic party's positions.

  6. Yawn. Like we need more of these meaningless ribbon and paint gestures.

  7. Its purple to act as a bat signal for ghetto kids to come fuck up the plaza. They think its grape drink.

  8. Okay, fuck your racism but that's funny.
