(Taxpayer) Funding for Kansas City Arts is a longstanding argument that always hopes to convince the electorate that this cowtown could be just like Paris, San Francisco . . . And now Portland . . . If we just up more cash.

This one was produced by Kansas City, Missouri's One Percent For Art Program and it imagines public art in this town as "beacons of our cultural and economic vitality" and not a bad joke.

We need alot more art like the humming sculpture in the city parking garage next to city hall. The homeless guy sleeping in the stairwell there yesterday really seemed to be enjoying it.

The Eiffel Tower, the Arc, The Carwash
ReplyDeleteActually the Eiffel Tower was only meant to be temporary, and Saint Louis has the arch and is one of the worst places in America to live. Art cannot change the fact that KCMO is a crime ridden, corrupt soon to be bankrupt mess.
ReplyDeleteNever given it much thought, 8:18, bu perhaps the Sky Curlers were inspired by and intended to represent the large rotating brushes one might find at a car wash.

ReplyDeleteCleaver looks young because he doesn't have the burden of worrying about paying back his loans weighing on him. It's easy to look young when you don't pay your bills!!
