Today's headline from The Star for the faithul . . .
In a ruling issued Friday, A Jackson County Judge freed the diocese from a suit against the Rev. Michael Tierney by dismissing one count of failure to supervise children and two counts of fraud and fraudulent misrepresentation.
For people watching this case closely, here's the money line that earned italics from The Star: "The ruling noted that courts have explicitly allowed suits only for negligent failure to supervise children , not intentional failure to supervise, as the suit alleged."
I'm not sure if anybody "wins" in this scenario but Catholics might feel just a bit less guilty this evening . . .

ReplyDeleteAgreed. My children were exposed to Tierney when the shithead bishop "moved" him to Christ the King to hide the sexual abuse he was accused of in past positions. Pattern anyone? Finn should be put in prison for his blatant co-conspirator status in the KC ST JOE cover up. He's already plead to such in Cass County. Instead, I've got to look at that fucker's picture every time I drop my kids off at school. Makes me sick to my fucking stomach. Let's hear it, Catholic apologists, how it's a witch hunt.
