CELEBRATE CITY HALL CIRCULAR LOGIC!!! AIM4PEACE MOTORCYCLE RALLY "PEACE RIDE" TO STOP KANSAS CITY VIOLENCE!?!?
Aim4Peace is an effort funded to the tune of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS by City Hall. They claim that without their work there would be more murders in Kansas City. (see: circular logic) Never mind that the homicide rate has remained constant since the inception of the group.
A thoughtful TKC TIPSTER asks us:
"So how many murders will this prevent?"
I'm guessing that it depends on whether or not they're distributing free helmets. But don't check my math on that one.

Aim4Peace hosts Peace Ride on July 15
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department's Aim4Peace program, in partnership with the Redline Riders Motorcycle Club, encourages residents to attend the Third Annual Peace Ride on Sunday, July 15 from noon to 4 p.m. The event will be at Blue Valley Park in the Main Shelter, 2301 Topping Ave.
The Peace Ride begins at noon with fun for the family, vendors from the community and hot rod bikes on display. The bikers will take off at 1 p.m. on a 24-mile ride through various parts of Kansas City. When the bikers return from the ride at approximately 2 p.m., presenters and attendees will discuss the history of African American motorcycle clubs and their part in the peace movement to stop the homicides. Residents may join the movement to stop the shooting and sign a Commitment to Peace agreement.
Gift certificates and other items donated by area motorcycle dealerships will be given away to Peace Ride participants and guests.

ReplyDeleteWe could use the Aim4Peace funds to purchase a reconacence plane to hover the city and catch some of the killers. Is this asking too much? Anything other than motorcades, walking, bicycles rides and other nonsensical drama.
ReplyDeleteDo they conduct assemblies in inner city schools to reduce violence? Put out literature for young people to read? Sponsor films depicting the result of violence and murder on people's lives?

Stay out of Overland Park they going to bust motorcycle riders and a gathering like this might mean a field day for them.

ReplyDeleteThe Council and especially Finance Chair Jan Marcason, need to cut the funding for this worthless program and put the money towards something that will benefit the city.
