    Good luck to her. Ten months isn't long, especially from meth since it is so easy to slip back into. By the way, Neveah is one of the names on a list my lawyer fried says to never name your kid because she sees it in juvie court all the time.

    I disagree. Ten months is an eternity. Meth is easier to quit then alcohol or tobacco.

    If she avoids users, she will be fine. He schooling & children will give her life structure & routine.

    Byron, maybe I wasn't clear. Ten months away from meth is a long time. Comparatively though she hasn't really been off of it so long that the addiction is so far in the past that is unlikely to come back is all I meant. I think I've read before the recovery rate of meth is only something like 2%, which is worse than all other drugs.

    The real milestone is two years. At two years, everything that was being medicated away is now back, true emotions return & the emotions are often too much for a person who probably didn't deal well to begin with. It is impossible to know the relapse rate for any drug, because that would require access to people's lives that isn't possible. As a former meth addict (yes, that is possible, because the addiction is mostly physical), smoker & al-anon I have a great deal of layman's experience with addiction.

    My real concern for her would be a 'relapse' into prostitution. When struggling financially, it may seem like quick & easy money. The prostitution will lead to relapse.
