What are they protesting? There has been an ongoing Mantra " Justice for Trayvon". He has been charged. Now they will have their wish, sort of. The trial won't be fair, it can't be, since Zimmerman has already been convicted by the media and various race baiting shit heels. ( Stand up Al! ) No jury will find Zimmerman Not Guilty. If they have video of Trayvon clubbing Zimmerman like a baby seal, it won't matter. A juror who votes not guilty is signing their own death warrant. So, "Justice" isn't going to be the outcome.

We need a whole lot less egos, personalities, make-believe organizations, extortion and demands, marches,and vigils, and a whole lot more hard work to learn enough to know what you're talking about, collaboration with other folks, respect for the views and thoughts of others, and cooperation with the people whose jobs it is to help provide some level of safety to our own communities.
Chief Forte' and the prosecutor are working on a plan to target the relatively small number of groups who regularly terrorize the east side and are responsible for a majority of the homicides.
What are you going to do to help them?
It's a good thing Michael Jackson's doctor wasn't white or the races were reversed in the OJ Simpson case or this country would have been burnt to the ground.

ReplyDeleteChuck is right, above, when he says you're mistaken. What people were protesting was that he wasn't a) arrested for murder and b) charged. Both of those things happened. You're wrong. They aren't "rushing to judgement" here, either. At least not in public. The right things have happened. He's been arrested, finally, and he's been charged. It will now be up to the evidence and the defense to find out what technically happened.

ReplyDeleteThe only 'rush to judgement' is the racists assuming that Trayvon is guilty of assualt because he is black. It is reasonable to assume that the one who is dead is the victim. It is not reasonable to assume that the shooter is the victim. "The punks always get away". That is not self-defense, that is vigilantism.

Actually, Trayvon got away, too. and he would have enjoyed his Skittles and iced tea had he kept going.
ReplyDeleteBut instead he returned, confronted Zimmerman, and threw the first punch. But coldcocking Zimmerman wasn't enough.
Martin next gets on top of Zimmerman and starts to beat his head against the sidewalk. Zimmerman screams out for help not just once, but repeatedly. At any point Martin could have disengaged and gone on his way. But he didn't.
And in fact, it took a bullet to get him to stop.
Martin got what his actions deserved.
If Zimmerman was the fanatical vigilante racist out hunting for a victim that the media has made him out to be, he would have shot first and called 9-1-1 second.
