THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! KAN$A$ CITY $PENDTHRIFT MAYOR $LY AND THE CITY COUNCIL STAY LO$ING!!!

Once again Kansas City has taken another expensive step backward.

Sure, there's not a silly barefoot lady walking around the Mayor's office . . . But that's hardly any real progress.

Where do we stand right now?

We've got a scary and costly new tax structure for the Zoo endorsed by just about every politico in KC.

Like it or not the Downtown Hotel is still on the table.

Mayor and City Council are working on more taxes for a toy train that doesn't really transport anybody but hypothetical tourists.

There's talk of an urban core sales tax that isn't being shouted down by elected officials.

And amid budget cuts . . . City Hall has a brand new wish list of taxes on the table. City sticker, bond restructuring and all kinds of borrowing for water will be forced on the last few silly old ladies who vote.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY'S TAX BURDEN IS ONLY GETTING BIGGER WHILE LOCAL POLITICOS HAVE ALL BUT FORGOTTEN ABOUT NEIGHBORHOODS!!!

It gets worse . . .

AMID AN ONGOING GLOBAL ECONOMIC DECLINE THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL HAVE AN AGENDA FILLED WITH NOTHING BUT THE SAME OLD DEVELOPMENT DEALS FOCUSED ON REWARDING POLITICAL INSIDERS!!!

The last few people who still vote might liken this to the Kay Barnes era . . . But it's worse . . .

This current epoch of spending money should scare Kansas City residents because it's taking place when cities just like ares are bleeding red ink and going bankrupt.

Also, as usual, Kansas City politicos have forgotten about the vast majority of their constituents in favor of high profile projects.

Sadly, this slate of ambitious developments will be forgotten when election time comes along and a new series of promises emerges while clueless Kansas City voters choose the friendliest politicos with the nicest smiles.

And all of this has inspired tonight's playlist . . .

As always, thank you for reading and have a safe and fun weekend.

And yet I'm still here. I hate you Tony. You magnificent bastard.

  4. But the La Raza convention is coming to town! That will make all this spending worthwhile!

  5. We need some of the previous council back

    ReplyDelete
  6. In the meantime, the murder and violence in Kansas City continues to grow.

  7. We were told Passing the e-tax and public safety sales tax would prevent and take care of this. We were lied to. Now were told we need even MORE Taxes. Say NO to new Taxes. Cut the budget. LAYOFF workers in the Fat Cat City Government.

  8. What did the e tax and public safety sales get us? A proposed budget by Troy Shulte to cut Funding for first responders in KC.

Safety is not the priority to our city politicos.

    ReplyDelete
  9. whatever happened to the outcry from the mayor-city council and SLY-not to mention fool Yael-about city control of the police department? Decided the school district would provide more money to waste-so they turned their attention there?

  10. What a joke and a disaster. KC Sucks.

  11. 7:20, other than Deb Hermann, there isn't a council person I'd bring back.

  12. 8:50 AM, First responders are being cut because they bullied their way to raises with back pay in a fucking flat economy. The etax was a continuation, not a increase for greedy fire fighter raises. Should other folks lose their jobs so these greedy bastards could get raises?

  13. Lay them off. Time to balance the Budget.

  14. More taxes for poor service ?
    High crime, poor response times.

  15. "Local politicos have all but forgotten about neighborhoods." Lately I've heard others bemoan the fact that our neighborhoods are in such poor shape. Sadly, neighborhoods was Terrence Nash's key platform when he ran for city council. It's too bad the community out south listened to all the lies spewed by our current lame duck representative instead of voting for someone who cared about something besides greasing palms.

  16. Right on! Sharp only cares about making a name for himself. Instead of fixing neighborhoods, he's spent PIAC money to give the sixth district a world class aquatic center. Hopefully, the city will be able to staff
it and the shootings and drug deals right next door will stop.

  17. What a shame more taxes, for poorer services.
Trying to figure out how all these people"deserve" a raise for such poor performance?

    ReplyDelete
  18. You deserve what you got! Let's see how long you support the ambulance chasing Mayor.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Just what Kansas City needs is Higher Taxes !

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey, working on boring public responsibilities like public safety, water services, decent streets, and housing is no fun.
But spending taxpayers' money on nifty projects for our downtown friends is really great, and maybe we'll even get our names on one of them!
Just keep voting for those tax increases and keep that e-tax coming!
Oh, and the least the other cities in the metro could do is send us some of their tax money to waste. We're getting short because we're giving away so many tax breaks and everyone seems to be moving out of town.

  23. First of all why such the surprise with tax raises and lay offs on the table in KCMO? (KCMO is BROKE)

A city needs X amount of dollars to operate, and yes, money has been recklessly spent and the decisions the city government makes, and has made over the years....are far from intelligent.

What people need to realize is, its the politics that dictate everything, just look around, look at everything in KCMO that the city has done and leaving many with questions why they did it. no one seems to know but first in line to bitch!!

If something goes up it must come down and there is a reason...its called GRAVITY! What the KCMO government does usually has no explanation (and they dont want you to have one - shady work is always best done in the dark) or apparent rhyme or reason....BUT the REAL reason is money, power and greed! Its this politico, in the pocket of that donor or voter group, its all about them and their self interests.

Its just like when KCMO took over the ambulance service and from what I understand a service that worked well. If it worked well why did they take over, why did they say they could save the city taxpayers so much money?, and if it did save so much money, why are they to proposing to lay off people in that profession? That makes no sense what so ever! who is running this city and where are the people who will stand up and say "NO MORE BULLSHIT IN KC?????"

People bitch and moan on here all the time and why? Well one would assume you do it because you, along with a bigger group of pissed off people are tired of the shit that goes on in KCMO.

One interesting thing is when information on this site is posted by its author, people try and tear down the author and bitch about what he has posted.

My first thought is, if you dont like what you see or read why do you keep coming back here to bitch about it...do you have no other substance in your life? If you have a bad consumer experience do you keep going back for more? or do you shop somewhere else for what you are looking for, last time in knew there are other blogs out here about KCMO? why do you come back if you dont like it and continue to bitch about it?

I dont agree with everything I see or read about on here, but if it got the the point that it owned me, I probably wouldn't come back - so check yourself before you wreck yourself!!!

  24. Slash the Budget and slash those City jobs.

  25. Estoy de acuerdo con 7:38. ¿Quién más hablará para usted, si no TKC?

  26. I am still waiting for a strip club to be built in my back yard like Crawford promised that Glover would provide. I voted for Glover on that issue alone!

That is what I call city services!
