TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY'S FIRST LOOK AT KELLY'S ROOFTOP DECK!!!

Because TKC is the juggernaut of blogs, just last night I received an invite to the Grand Opening of Randal's Rooftop Deck at Kelly's.

At first glance I was pleased with the view.

The bar was open but I was too busy getting photographs to drink.

Again, I've wondered if the view from this bar will save Westport.

The place has always had loyal regulars and pictured above are the wives of owners. I didn't capture it but the one in the foreground was wearing some neat looking leather pants.

The turnout was pretty good but not as packed as I had thought on this First Friday.

What I liked is that the staircase leading up to the deck is filled with Kelly's history and the tribute list of donors who helped build the place is just as prominently featured as the three flat screen TVs.

There are a lot of variables involved but this will undoubtedly be a choice spot during this Spring and Summer and is maybe the last, best chance at reviving Westport or at least earning some biz away from the clutches of the P&L District.

  4. Did Kelly's really pay Tony?

How do I get them to fund my blog?

Tony please help your fellow bloggers learn how to earn money from our sites just starting out.

  5. We'd take a seat next to Tony there for some St. Patrick's Day coverage.

  6. It looks pretty good and will make a fun Westport vantage point. But I'm amazed that glass beer bottles will be that close to the edge. I'm gonna be very wary of walking below that deck when it's busy.

  7. Tony, what does this kind of advertisement cost on your blog?

  8. KC will probably find some excuse to shut this down. Can't have any competition to the Power & White District.
