In a typically elitist move, today The Kansas City Star is running an editorial about improving infrastructure in The Crossroads.
It's not a bad idea. I can think of so many other places that need local infrastructure help (Starting in South KC) but at first glance their recommendations aren't too shabby.
And then I think to myself . . .
THE D-BAGS ON THE STAR'S EDITORIAL BOARD HAVE COMPLETELY FAILED TO MENTION THE ABNORMALLY HIGH MURDER RATE CURRENTLY IMPACTING AFRICAN-AMERICANS IN KANSAS CITY!!!
There's not one editorial dedicated to the topic that TKC Readers have weighed in on throughout the first part of this year.
It's shameful, a travesty but more of a reflection of The Star's priorities. These are mostly JoCo people more interested in a good time than the real problems that affect KC Proper and that's just part of the reason they're becoming less influential during this digital evolution of media.
Tony, we haven't heard about the GREAT articles that the Call has written about all the murders. How come?
ReplyDeleteLet's put the Funk on this issue...
ReplyDeleteFunk is only good on issues involving feet.
ReplyDeleteAll they would have to do is print one article, and run it every year cause the sh@t won't change until the families, preacher's, so called activist's, radio station's, and the attitude of the African American community change!
ReplyDeleteLet's just remember that our Police Department is nothing but a number crunching organization. They can only tally up the dead.
ReplyDeleteCrime Prevention is a thing of the past.
Yeah it's the pig's fault 16 year old's are shootin each other.
ReplyDeleteKCPD is always asking for more money. What I would like to see are results not excuses.
ReplyDeleteTony,
ReplyDeleteWhen are people going to realize that whatever happens in the inner city will affect the suburbs. As an example look at Waldo. There is no getting away from the fact that KCMO is KCMO and anyone who lives and works in this city's limits are affected by things that happen to it. You can take your children put them in a private schools or other school districts but you still come home or go to work in KCMO and some part of your money will stay in KCMO. You should be concerned if only for this reason, you paying for something without any benefit to yourself. This either makes you very nice people or suckers. If you still don't care, get out and work in Kansas or some other city in Missouri. I am sure that someone else would love to take your place.

ReplyDeleteZZZZZZZZZZ
you won't see result's from cops they don't parent, just arrest!
ReplyDeleteYou don't even see arrest results.
ReplyDeletePrevention the key not arrests.
Albert Einstein:
ReplyDeleteWhoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods.
And yet when the Star ran articles about the high murder/crime rates in certain areas of KCMO, you decried them as racist!
ReplyDeleteOh it's all JOHNSON COUNTY'S fault that the rapist is in Waldo, that blacks are STILL shooting each other and innocent store clerks....right?
ReplyDeleteIn your last post about Crispin, some commentators dissed Joe Jackson. I met him and he seems nice enough, especially when compared to Linwood.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have a comparison between Joe and Linwood?
Yeah, that's right, when The Star looks closely at the inner city and its problems this is all we hear:
ReplyDeleteThe "Murder Factory" series from The Star was some of the most out of touch and misguided propaganda aimed only at garnering meaningless publisher Journalism award!
You're pretty bitter, but since they never hired you, I guess I can see why. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad. You're bitter at Mike Hendricks because he's white and has everything you want: a job at The Star, a nice home, a wife. You're bitter at Tim Finn because he has somebody you want. You're bitter at The Star because they thought your writing samples were pedantic and dull, the fact that they're not going out of business, and that they basically laugh at your every weepy little post at them.
It's hilarious to watch you self-destruct. It really is.
Maybe if the murder factory piece wouldn't have sucked Tony would have liked it.
ReplyDeleteIf the star is holding that up as their credibility. They're the ones who are self-destructing.
What's even more funny is your comment.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that your posting to Tony's blog which shows that you read it...... guess it must be more entertaining and newsworthy than the STAR .
The Star is just one news station. In the future the Internet will over even more.
