The Cauthen hearing was postponed today according to the City Clerk.
Now, Cauthen is entitled to a hearing up to 15 days after his suspension. After that, not so much . . . So if KC doesn't hurry up and go through with this or Cauthen doesn't push for it . . . It may strengthen lame legal threats.
Real Talk: The support for Cauthen is down to just a few local preachers and everybody would rather he just go away.
HOWEVER . . . The logic that applies to his dismissal is interesting. If this departure amid a huge budget deficit and a faltering local economy signals a "fresh start" and a chance at a new beginning . . . Doesn't the same thing apply to the City Council? They're just as complicit in the budget mess and presided over a great deal of it.
Unfortunately, Cauthen is going to be used as the latest and greatest scapegoat for the Mayor and Council who have heretofore used Former Mayor Kay's record as an excuse for their lack of new ideas and leadership. So, with Cauthen (hopefully) gone the only real question is: When will Mayor Funky and his mostly useless Council will start taking responsibility for their actions?
When a black man is at stake and they're losing you just hope they fade away. What a crime.
ReplyDeletetake your money, Wayne, and just go away.

When is Chuck Eddy going to get the gig of City Manager?
ReplyDeleteEddy or AssHol?
ReplyDeleteWhy would kansas city want him?
Eddy could get the popcorn concession. He is gone too but it will take a little more time.
ReplyDeleteRemember when Cauthern was hired he was found to be a low level minor fixer in Denver. He blossomed here and he got plucked here.
