KICKASS TKC TIPSTERS are reporting a great ruckus out of the most recent PIAC (Public Improvements Advisory Committee) meeting . . .
A recent note says it all . . .
Some of my Red Bridge friends and I attended the PIAC meeting today because of item IV on the agenda below ("Red Bridge Road Shortfall").There are two important facts that are apparent in this AWESOME E-MAIL FROM A KICKASS TKC TIPSTER:
We thought that this was an opportunity to (just by being in the audience) express our objection to putting even more money into this unpopular project; over 75% oppose it on stimuluswatch.org.
However, it turned out that the "shortfall" is not for the Red Bridge Road project per-se, but for an add-on project. Namely, to bury the utility lines that run along the road. Not only were we (once again) misdirected, the members of the PIAC were thinking like us, and the chairman expressed no small amount of displeasure at being mislead on the subject. (I recommend watching it on ch. 2)
Seems a little surprising that they want to bury the utilities here when they don't mind all those big poles along Troost.
1. All of Kansas City (white people too) is now aware of the disparity going on with Power Lines and they don't like it.
2. NOBODY HAS A GOOD IDEA ON HOW THE OBAMA CASH GIVEAWAY IS GOING TO BE SPENT!!!
Both of these facts are important and they point to a complete lack of transparency in local government despite so much hope for change.
I have a good idea of how to spend the stimulus money should be spent. Call me and I will give you an account number and you can tell me what kind of 'work' you would like to see done.
ReplyDeleteHa
ReplyDeleteSeriously, do you even know where red bridge is located? It might be a little tough erecting those giant utility poles in the middle of forest. Come check out this part of SKC, we are racially diverse and we are sick of a stagnant neighborhood. We are on the east side of this project. Although I normally get your sense of humor you embarrass yourself when you regurgitate stuff you know nothing about.
ReplyDeletethe bridgezilla will be above the forest. do you know where they are going to bury those lines? it isn't on the east side of the project.
ReplyDeleteThe Red Bridge folks just need to understand their area is going into decline. It used to be a nice neighborhood, now it's slowly trickling down to urban decay. Nothing you can do about it when the niggers decide to invade.
ReplyDeleteHead west, or south, or somewhere else.
Bury utility lines? This project buries the PARK!
ReplyDelete"the stimulus is killing us"
de niggas dat be in de powah gots all de monies spent an in dey pockets already!
ReplyDeleteHey if you live in Red Bridge SELL and go some where else it can only get worse. Obviously the powers taht be want to make Red Bridge People pay for the fact that they opposed the new "Freeway" bridge and the widening of Red Bridge Road. When the old airport gets set up for trucks it will be a miserable place to live anyhow. Sue them for killing your property values.
ReplyDeleteNow that the new bridge has been open for almost three years, drivers through Minor Park will indeed see that overhead wires have been removed.
ReplyDeleteIn their place is possibly the greatest concentration of utility boxes in the entire area. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and distract from what is left of the park experience for commuters.
One wonders if we got our money's worth on that one.
