Today The Missouri Department of Transportation held a hearing on plans to add a bike and pedestrian path across the Heart of America Bridge . . . They seemed to be in favor of the project despite the fact it will be used by only a handful of people every year.

I've jogged across the bridge (stupid) several times. I think it'll be a 'if you build it they will come' sort of things... maybe.
ReplyDeleteHopefully.
ReplyDeleteMake it a toll path.
ReplyDeleteHaha.
ReplyDeletemost ludicrous comment overheard at the meeting: "cyclists run red lights because they don't like to unclip their shoes"
ReplyDeletecyclists are darwinista's.
ReplyDeletedying for evolution.
The bike/ped path is only about $2 million. The rest of the $7 million is for fixing the part of the bridge where automobiles drive.
ReplyDeleteThis path will be a huge benefit for working folk who have limited options to get from home to work. It's much more about job access than recreation. So Tony, why do you hate poor people?
