Jeff Roe's blog The Source stands up for Justice (for white people) and I'm proud of them.
The Source notes the verdict by The Supreme Court overturning an appeals court ruling by Judge Sonia Sotomayor which "rejected a claim that the City of New Haven discriminated against white firefighters by throwing out a promotional exam after all the African-American firefighters who took it scored too poorly to be promoted."
The Supreme Court Decision is seen a a detriment to Sotomayor's reputation despite the fact that she's, most likely, going to be confirmed to the SCOTUS anyway.
So what do what can we learn in this situation?
WHEN MIDDLE-CLASS WHITE PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT DISCRIMINATION IT'S A FIGHT FOR JUSTICE AND THE AMERICAN WAY!!!
On the other hand, most (so-called Conservative) reactionaries usually reject claims of discrimination from minorities without much consideration.
Therefore, since Conservative white people are now endorsing discrimination lawsuits I expect them to also speak out for minorities now currently involved in struggles that involve persecution based on race . . . Like, let's say the "Mammygate" case.
Now that their pet case has been decided, anything less than full support from The Source against discrimination of all kinds would be cowardly and a betrayal of their anti-discrimination stance.
Either that . . . Or once again SUPREMACY has surfaced and white people get a pass when whining and crying about perceived racism where none existed.
Or it could be that they actually scored the best on the tests involved. But if you want artificially inflated scores, and a potentially lower or non qualified person doing a critical task, then feel free to support that kind of hiring. What is happening is people are tired of race baiting and appeasing just to keep people from crying.
ReplyDeleteMerit based testing is a good thing. Just assign the person taking the test a number. Do not place names on the test.
In a pool of people that can assure equal grading and assessment of the tests.

We need to elect more people of color to congress so we can change these oppressive laws, so we can punish the white devils who write unfair tests, and hopefully get reparations for all of the past transgressions the white man has put on the people.
