Clean Slate: Kansas City Bloggers Are Now Leading Opinion Makers!!!

It was a slow news day so I'm looking at recent photos of Leighton Meester and using my imagination rather than paying for her sex tape touted by gossip blog TMZ. But on the bright side local bloggers earned a bit of coverage.

Kudos to Scooter J for earning a mention on the local news and speaking out in the Mertensmeyer case and the dude's untimely release today.

Scooter J's post "Do Not Hire This Guy" earned a mention from Chris Hernandez of NBC Action News along with negative sentiment about the slap on the wrist from all across the local blogosphere.

Meanwhile . . . The so-called "paper-of-record" didn't host much commentary on the story and their opinion writers refused to offer any opinion.

Once again the local blogosphere and a group of independent publishers and thinkers outmaneuvered and outperformed the staff of the JoCo Star that is moving toward bankruptcy and yet another round of layoffs more quickly than anyone thinks.

I think Tony's biggest "fans" are frustrated Kansas City Star employees.

And I canceled my subscription to The Star when I found this blog, Bottom Line Communications, Topix and The KC Tribune. They are all much better at reporting the news.
