TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! UPCOMING KANSAS CITY ORDINANCE MIGHT MOVE BIG MONEY AT CITY HALL!!!

There is no question that Mayor Funkhouser is the worst elected official in modern Kansas City history.

An upcoming move that's frightening EVERYONE in City Hall could be one of the worst schemes he has ever imagined and I think people are telling me about it simply to talk the guy out of making a HUGE mistake that will completely screw up this town.

Here it is:

ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING TKC TIPSTERS OUT THERE SAYS THAT AN UPCOMING CITY COUNCIL ORDINANCE WILL TAKE ALL KANSAS CITY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ISSUES OUT OF THE FINANCE AND AUDIT COMMITTEE AND INSTEAD PUT THEM THROUGH THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMITTEE!!!

Not a big deal until we look at the people involved in this dimwitted mayoral maneuver . . .

Right now Deb Herman runs Finance and Audit . . .

Terry Riley is the chairman of Planning and Zoning . . .

This is a cutesy way for Fumbling Mayor Funky to change up committee assignments without specifically moving anyone . . .

It gets worse . . . From people who know, here's a bit of insight into the Mayor's reasoning . . .

Mayor Funky is looking to pay back Deb Herman . . . She pretty much embarrassed him during the budget battle and (easily) made him look like an idiot. Hell, she even gave TKC a quote.

They say that Mayor Funky sees Deb Herman as a threat to his support in the Northland.

Mayor Funky is stupidly attempting to buy more support on the Eastside and strangely thinks that working with Riley will earn him the "street cred" that he hasn't been able to come by yet.

Oh and here's something funny . . . WORD AROUND CITY HALL IS THAT DEB HERMAN IS CONSIDERING A RUN FOR MAYOR AND THAT TERRIFIES MAYOR FUNKY BECAUSE SHE WOULD TAKE ALL OR AT LEAST SPLIT HIS LAST REMAINING NORTHLAND SUPPORT.

Of course Deb isn't going to say she's thinking about running . . . Maybe she isn't . . . But Mayor Funky attempting to play political games is laughable . . . And also potentially dangerous.

Notwithstanding, I think Terry Riley is a great guy, I think he'd make a fine Mayor (or at least better than Gloria Squitiro) So I'm happy to see Riley get more power . . .

But I wonder: How does Kansas City feel about Riley having a huge say in all of this town's eco-devo action?

Of course this move will assure that Riley will have campaign coffers full for his Mayoral Run . . . Mayor Funky thinks he can beat Terry Riley and would like to face him as a candidate . . . So, this move to take Deb Herman out of the mix AND set up a guy who he thinks he can beat would seem like genius to a person with a simplistic understanding of Kansas City Politics . . . Like, say Gloria Squitiro or Jeff Roe's old boy . . . But the fact is that Mayor Funky is facing a City full of people who can't stand him and lame stunts aren't going to work to save him.

The rest of the Council might love this idea to give Terry Riley more power over Kansas City's purse strings but Funkhouser's reasoning for doing it is ultimately flawed and won't lead to anything productive.

Here's hoping that because TKC TIPSTERS revealed this plan . . . It all goes away . . . Because Mayor Funky isn't even close to outsmarting anyone AND Kansas City can't afford our finances to be used as part of a political game.
