TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! THE LATEST PETITIONS FROM CLAY CHASTAIN!!!

Another light rail debate seems to be on the way . . . But rather than simply reporting on the matter and taking notes . . . TKC is letting folks look at the documents for themselves . . . Something that "journalists" rarely allow.

Here is exactly what Clay Chastain is up to . . .

1. An initiative to build a green public transit system headquartered at Union Station.

Here's the front of Clay's Latest Light Rail/Public Transit Petition

And here's the back of the Light Rail/Public Transit Petition

Then there's the obvious question . . . How much is all of this going to cost? Clay attempts to address those concerns:

Here's a look at a very simple budget he has devised

And then . . .

Chastain is also working on an initiative to repeal the provision in the charter that allows the Council to repeal voter approved initiatives.

That's not all . . .

Chastain is having a press conference on 6/1/09 10:00 A.M. at Union Station to launch a petition drive to place the following two initiatives on the November 2009 ballot.

From the looks of it . . . Neither Chastain nor the Light Rail question is going away anytime soon . . . Yet again, it's up to Kansas City to decide what we're going to do with it.

  6. how 'bout a petition to pass a law that says clay can be executed if he steps one foot into missouri.

    or

a petition that we pass a law that gives everyone in k.c. free cab rides for life. or a free car. has to be a whole lot cheaper than light rail.

  7. Only if Clay has to pick up the tab for the cab rides.

  8. I don't see how Kansas City can solve its transit problems without magical winged horses. (It's no dumber than light rail.)

  9. i don't get it, i really don't. maybe i missed the story when he moved out of kc a few years ago and it was possibly covered then, but why does this so-called "activist" who lives out of town have such a hard-on for light rail in kansas city? because he won't have to pay for it, ride it, live with it or see it fail? doesn't he have better things to do with his time? and is he funding all this shit too?

someone needs to shoot the poor bastard.

  10. The guy wants to cram it down our throats that we didn't vote for it when he could have made some money and political hay from the victory. This is actually a vendetta.
The question is ==does his wife pick up the bill for his air fair, etc. every time he comes back to mess with us or is it some one like Bacchus or the KCATA or somebody else that stands to make a lot of money because the own property on Main Street --Tom Levitt or Gates. Some one else has to be helping WHO
