A lot of news over a memorial paying tribute to one of Kansas City's most dramatic bad plans:
And actually, I think this would be a great memorial for this town that's long overdue. Not only to honor the victims of the tragedy but also to remind the people of this town that luxury developments can often end in disaster - It's a lesson that Kansas City has yet to learn.
Tony, your comparison to the skywalks tragedy to "luxury developments can often end in disaster" is invalid and major stretch even for you. This was a hotel - not some fancy entertainment district - and built at the time without any of the baggage we see today with TIFs, if I'm not mistaken. The collapse was caused by an engineering flaw, not poor judgement in the development itself.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I'm actually surprised you exhibited any compassion for the victims and survivors.
Ummm yeah it was an engineering flaw. this is common knowledge with the numerous interviews done with the architects over the years...but Tony getting his facts straight? Fuck no. Yeah thats why we love you Tony, absofuckinlutely no credibility whatsoever. YAY.
ReplyDeletehey what happened to the korea war memorial that is supposed to be built in washington park haven t heard a thing about this since last fall
ReplyDeleteC.A.V.E. - Citizens Against Virtually Everything. Tony wants to be a member but I'm not sure he's a citizen.
ReplyDeleteHis home could be the headquarters because his moms basement is a cave so it would be a natural association.
ReplyDeletePlease explain why it has taken 28(!) years to build this memorial?
ReplyDelete"to remind the people of this town that luxury developments can often end in disaster"
ReplyDeletethis makes no sense whatsoever. one of the stupidest things i've read in a long time.
Why has it taken 28 years to mark this tragedy?
ReplyDeleteWhy do we need a memorial for every collapse in this country?
ReplyDeleteNot to sound harsh, but I think a memorial for memorials that don't make the cut she be built.
Smedrock has a point.
ReplyDeleteThe trial lawyers who walked away with most of the money should pay for the memorial.
