A sad event for local cyclists and everyone who wants the streets of this town to be safer:
As much as I hate the politics of cycling advocates . . . I want everybody in this town to be safe . . . We can all start the legislating against dudes who wear those nasty cycling-short-banana-hammocks in public.
here's a better start... stay the fuk off the freeways when you're riding a bike, for crying out loud. they're not supposed to be there anyway.

ReplyDeleteThe only reason bicycles on public streets are not outlawed is because liberals love em. If conservatives rode bicycles instead of SUVs they would be history.
ReplyDeletei had just driven thru there on my way home from work no more than 15 before this happened. i couldn't see shit. it was raining so hard and it was very dark because of the lack of lighting around there that i can see how you could of hit a bicyclist without ever seeing him.
ReplyDeletei think it is now the time for a massive nationwide billboard campaign that would let folks know that certain things are just plain wrong. here's my list of a few of the things that should be on them.
1. killing other people is wrong and will get you sent to prison. in case you did not know that.
2.having a bad day or week or month because you screwed up your finances does not mean you should kill your family and pretend you were at the gym.
3. because you're having problems in your life and are ashamed of yourself does not mean you should kill your family right before you kill yourself all because you think they won't be able to live without you.
4. somebody eyeballing you does not mean you should pull out your gat and start shooting in their general direction.
5. getting into an argument and then feeling punk'd does not mean you should pull out your gat in a crowded place and start blasting away.
6. just because you need to get to work does not mean you should hop on your bike and take the interstate to get there.
they should also do a ton of psa's on this and rational thought.
just because a thought popped into your head does not mean you have to act on it.
