H&R BLOCK, J.E. DUNN PLAN FOR TIF COMMISSION MIGHT BACKFIRE!

The H&R Block, J.E. Dunn stalling tactics used on the TIF Commission might not work out for the best according to some experts on the situation who were good enough to talk to TKC.

Here's the deal:

After hearing more stale and unconvincing excuses from H&R Block and J.E. Dunn attorneys, ("Rodriguez and now, R.F. Fischer duped us!") and much private and public deliberation, the TIF Commission ordered the Human Relations Department Director, Philip Yelder to conduct a thorough analysis of ALL the MBE/WBE participants and not just Rodriguez.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT FOLKS SPEAKING UP AGAINST UNFAIR MINORITY HIRING PRACTICES WANTED!!!

So far the investigation has only focused on the one Latino whistle-blower and ignored the rest of the program to see if any other patterns of abuse might arise.

In a surprise turn of events, mostly brought on by H&R Block and J.E. Dunn's whining about how they were unaware of what was going on at the subcontractor level, the TIF Commission is slowly beginning to see the light that there may be more shady dealings beyond one subcontractor.

And here's the important part:

This places the $28 million dollars of reported MBE/WBE participation in construction services as well as the reported $3 million for professional services back on the table for review for eligibility for reimbursement.

So . . . "H&R BLOCK YANKS DEFEAT OUT OF THE JAWS OF VICTORY!"

In what could have been a case with a small fine given that the TIF commission is really tired of this subject . . . Both H&R Block and J.E. Dunn actually expanded the investigation!!!

Once again people see corporate greed and blundering along with the fact that folks are saying Dunn and Block are dragging this thing out and hoping the opposition goes away. We'll have to wait till August in order to find out which side made the right gamble, because in the immediate aftermath . . . Things don't look so good for the folks accused of not living up to their part of a TIF agreement.

  1. If I add an illegal addition to my house the city will come out here and make me tear it down.
So tear down the H&R Block Building and they will know that we were serious about the minority set aside.

Remember when old man Dunn talked about God what a hypocrite. God for him is when he gets his way and goes to the bank.

  2. Nope actually as long as the structure is deemed stable, normal is to allow it to remain & increase the property tax.

While I hope H&R & JED get to pay dearly for the lies, what are these companies supposed to do?
    1. There just aren't enough MBE/WBE companies to accomplish what is requested. This is just a simple fact, Diaz knows it too, hell he used to be employed by JE Dunn. Ask him who encouraged him to move 3 blocks away?
    2. When you hire a company or person based on race or gender, that is wrong. What gives the right to any public funded project to become racist when need be?

  3. Rodriguez made millions stealing our dollars to put in his pocket...why do you think he was chairman of the board of the Kansas City Hispanic Chamber for a time????

  4. Hm. . . Didn't I read somewhere on Google that Wayne Cauthen headed up Denver's MBE/WBE program and paying minorities to loan their name and stats to development projects was standard procedure there? And wasn't Cauthen under investigation for promoting -- maybe even initiating-- that whole scam? So he hired Yelder to do the same thing in KC. Surprised? And Yelder will cover up as much as possible for Cauthen because he has a dirty little secret that could get him fired. . . .
