AWESOME!!! Liberty Memorial is getting good ticket sales (but still below projections). Sadly, the place is running out of grant money and would be mothballed without a huge subsidy from Kansas City and A LOT of wishful thinking about the future.

Mothball it or give it to mouth, Mr. godfather who got a street named after him for taking some of our tax money.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but that sounds kind of gross.
ReplyDeleteSome things are worth subsidizing and this is one of them.
ReplyDeleteI usually agree with you on this city wasting money, TKC. But the negative headline about the WW1 Museum is way off base. This is one public works project that is deserving of a subsidy. This museum is gem. You and other people in this town should be proud to have this museum in KC. If you're concerned about budget shortfalls and projections for the WW1 Museum, then go visit, and have your out of town guests go visit, and pay the entrance fee. It is worth every penny.

ReplyDeleteYes, we don't care how many young men die in the streets because of inadequate police funding.
The museum needs funding. Museums should always take precedence over saving the lives of people.
